DC is currently in its Absolute Power crossover event, revealing alternate versions of its main trinity, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Fans have been sort of taken aback by Batman’s design for the event, and believe that he has become overtly beefy for no good reason.

Now, as an explanation for the character’s design has begun to float online, fans are more repulsed by the creative choices made for the character. Not only has the explanation for the design made it an odd choice for the character, but fans are not sure what DC is trying to do with this iteration of Batman.

The design choice for Batman seems to have confused the DC fandom

It was revealed that Absolute Power’s Batman’s Bat Symbol was actually the head of an axe. This has caused a lot of fans to wonder if this was a different character altogether, one that became Batman just for the sake of it. Given that Batman has a different origin story, it does feel like this could have been a different character by itself.

So turns out, it’s actually a metal plate and turns into an axe… No idea what they’re cooking with Absolute Batmanpic.twitter.com/WcVc1VUhjM

Thedesign for Batman might not sit well with fans, but Superman and Wonder Woman have received some changes to their designs as well. However, while details about Batman have been much more forthcoming, not much is known about the re-designs of the other members of the Trinity.

Batman’s new Origin Story inAbsolute Powermakes him a working-class hero

Batman has always been a billionaire playboy, but theAbsolute Powerversion of the character is more of a working-class hero. Described as an engineer, it makes sense that this Batman will be more buff as compared to the Batman of the main timeline. This Batman is used to hard labor which could contribute to his titanic physique.

However, given that design and the back story of the character, it feels as though instead of being a new take on Batman, it is a different character altogether that just got stuck with the monicker of Batman. This might also be a reason why this version of the character is not very well received by the members of the audience. While being teased alongside a new take on Wonder Woman and Superman as well, it remains to be seen how the character factors into the story as well.
