They’ve been occurring for nearly half of its marketing cycle, starting when leakersrevealedthe region name and theterastallizing mechanicweeks before they were officially confirmed. A lot of info about upcoming Pokemon had been revealed as well, though always in written form. This is the first time for Scarlet & Violet that a live video or a detailed character model image has been leaked prior to an official announcement.
God of War Ragnarok, which is set to release on November 9th, also recently hadfootage leaked earlydue toretailers selling the game before it actually launched. Reports speak of asimilar situation happeningwithSonic Frontiers. Though how the dataminers gained access to this Pokémon’s info is currently unclear, the model and animations are quite detailed, so if it’s a fabrication, it’s quite a good one.
It’s supposedly listed as being the 1,080th Pokémon in the Pokédex, but that’s the only bit of information that was relayed about it; its name, type, and evolutionary status is currently unknown. It could be that more information about this Coin Pokémon will be revealed before the game’s fast-approaching release date. The Pokémon Company has been revealing new Scarlet & Violet Pokemon at a pretty quick rate, showing offWiglett,Farigiraf,Bellibolt, andGreavard, all in the span of a month.
However, the gamesarecoming out in two weeks, so it could be the Pokémon Company wants to keep the rest of its cards close to its chest. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will introduce the 9th generation of Pokémon games, which has fans inherently excited because it will introduce new starters, a lot of new Pokémon, and new battle mechanics. They are touted to be the first true open-world titles in the series, but this may end up coming at a cost. A few publicationsconcurred, when previewing the game, that its performance and visuals left quite a lot to be desired.
