Being a part of the CW’sArrowverse, the series was the second addition, following closely after the success of Stephan Amell’sArrow. The early seasons ofThe Flashwere extremely promising for fans of the universe that was being created, providing a lighter tone of Central City compared to the darkness of Starling City. Grant Gustin was seen as the titular character, and the series, as a whole, found a special place in the hearts of fans. However, things took an unfortunate turn when the series started to deteriorate in quality.

Despite this and the cancelation of the series, fans were excited when they found out that there would be a movie coming of the same character, this time, being portrayed by Ezra Miller. Many were expecting Gustin to make a cameo in this film, alongside all the other past actors who were making an appearance. This, however, did not happen. The Flashfilm featured Ezra Miller in the role of the Scarlet Speedster and would feature the plot of the Flashpoint paradox. Knowing this, fans were extremely excited about the fact that many past characters from earlier projects could make appearances in this film. It was almost expected that Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen would be one of them, and this wasn’t only because he was another Flash from a different universe.

Miller actually ended up making a cameo inThe Flashseries, during theCrisis on Infinite Earthscrossover event in 2020. Despite this, Gustin was nowhere to be seen in the film, which was to the disappointment of many. Since this happened, many have speculated the reason why the actor did not appear in this movie, even though actors from all corners of the franchise managed to feature in some way or the other.
