The Final War arc inMy Hero Academiahas brought some major twists in the tale ofMy Hero Academiaand Deku, the main character of the series. Deku will have a very difficult time defeating Tomura Shigaraki since he has grown far too strong. But that’s not all. Deku faces another danger of losing all his powers.

A fascinating turn of events occurs in Chapter 417, as Deku is placed in Shigaraki’s past and given the chance to see what led to the development of such a violent character. However, to penetrate Shigaraki’s defenses and gain access to his thoughts, Deku discards the remnants of One for All.
It’s interesting to note that Deku can interact with tangible objects in the memory world since he uses One For All. However, it won’t matter much because Deku’s loss of One for All vestiges may result in him losing his powers in the final battle. This has again reignited an old debate about who is the main character of the series, Deku or Bakugo.

Deku Loses One For All Vestiges And Their Powers
Deku tried to push every last trace of the One For All into Shigaraki in chapter 417 ofMy Hero Academiain an attempt to weaken his defense, leaving just him and Nana Shimura. However, Deku may be rendered virtually useless because the disappearance of Yoichi’s vestige (the first user of One for All) casts doubt on the future of One for All.

Losing them allmight not be advantageous for Deku or One for All, even though he did get the respect of its former remnants. Even though Deku has put a lot of effort into overcoming One For All’s tremendous power throughout the series, it is still unclear whether the strength he has amassed will be sufficient to see the last battle through to the conclusion as now he has lost all of this power to Shigaraki Tomura.
However, Deku’s problems are not limited to him losing his powers before the final battle. This incident in the latest chapter has also given rise to an old debate about whether Deku is still the protagonist of the series or the focus will shift towards Bakugo who has witnessed immense growth in the past.

My Hero AcademiaReignites The Old Debate About Who Is the Main Character
Since Bakugo has concluded his ultimate redemption by defeating All for One in Chapter 410 ofMy Hero Academia, many fans believe that the story has shifted its focus from Deku to Bakugo which might result in him becoming the main character of the series. Now the debate has been reignited again because of Deku losing One for All.
Bakugo has proved himselftime and time again, that he is worthy of being the main character ofMy Hero Academia. He has not only shown great potential but has also defeated major villains like All for One. Although he has a separate storyline going on, many fans believe that he is better suited to be the main character.

Returning Characters For My Hero Academia Season 7: When is the Next Season Coming?
Now that Deku might have lost all of his powers, the next best character to fight the final battle is Bakugo, thus once again shifting the focus of the protagonist on him. This will not only put Deku on the sidelines but also hurt his image as a protagonist.
