Vince McMahon, the co-founder of the modern WWE, as well as the current Executive Chairman of the promotion’s parent company, i.e., TKO Group Holdings is under much controversy at the moment, following the recent lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. And although this isn’t the first time, his reputation seems to be more in danger this time.
While he isn’t the only one accused, with WWE talent relations’ former head John Laurinaitis allegedly serving as his co-partner in this crime, TKO Group Holdings recently took to respond to the lawsuit, claiming that McMahon“does not control TKO”all the while addressing Grant’s accusations as“horrific allegations”.

TKO Group Holdings Comments On Lawsuit Filed Against Vince McMahon

As reported byVariety, TKO Group Holdings’ current Executive Chairman Vince McMahon has been accused of allegedly trafficking former WWE employee Janel Grant to other men“as a pawn to secure talentdeals,”with the former Head of Talent Relations at WWE, John Laurinaitis serving as McMahon’s partner-in-crime.
Since this lawsuit filed by Grant is against the Executive Chairman of TKO, Laurinaitis,andWWE for having“violated the Trafficking Victims Prevention Act”along with claims of“civil battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress concerning years-long sexual and emotional abuse”the former employee suffered, TKO Group Holdings had to release a statement.
And so they did. In a recent statement issued by none other than a spokesperson for TKO Group Holdings, this issue was addressed by the parent company of both WWE and UFC as follows:
“Mr. McMahon does not control TKO nor does he oversee the day-to-day operations of WWE. While this matter predates our TKO executive team’s tenure at the company, we take Ms. Grant’s horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing this matter internally.”
From what can be derived from this statement,Vince McMahonmight be seemingly in deeper waters than he was previously while stepping down as WWE’s CEO in 2022 due to a similar misconduct, considering how TKO Group Holdings would most likely side up with saving WWE before rescuing McMohan.

Lawsuit Filed Against Vince McMahon: A Summary
In the lawsuit, the details of which have been shared byVariety here, not only did Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis engage in s-xual misconduct“both for their own pleasure and as a pawn to secure talent deals with prospective wrestlers they were recruiting,”but they further allegedly used both WWE’s property as well as its funding for the same.
Further reports claim that while the WWE co-founder did“shower Ms. Grant with gifts and empty work promotions,”he also threatened“her livelihood and her reputation if she wouldn’t succumb to his increasingly depraved s-xual demands,”which allegedly included“disseminating pornography of Ms. Grant to ‘thousands’ of individuals and engaging in s-x acts with other WWE employees”
If that wasn’t enough, things apparently got worse for Grant when TKO Group Holdings Executive Chairman’s wife got involved in the situation after finding out about the pair’s relationship, following which Grant“was abruptly pressured to resign from the WWE and forced to sign an NDA days before a major financial deadline for the organization.”
However, this wasn’t done without a promise which, according to the lawsuit, read:“Under the guise that Mr. McMahon would ‘protect her’ financially and reputationally, and pay her $3 million.”Yet, McMahon failed to fulfill his promise, paying only $1 million to Grant in February 2022, and refused to pay her further“falsely claiming that she had leaked information to the press.”
Even then, these are only a few of the allegations specified in the lawsuit by Janel Grant, which was notably filed a mere two days after TKO signed a 10-year deal for WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” with Netflix for $500 million per year.
As for the compensation for damages that occurred, the lawsuit reportedly seeks“unspecified monetary damages”along with a“declaratory judgment”that an NDA that Grant signed with them while she was still a WWE employee is“void and unenforceable, and does not bar any of Plaintiff’s claims against Defendants McMahon and WWE.”
