Bad Signal is the Story Mission for Act IV in Modern Warfare Zombies, and consists of two main objectives for you to complete. These objectives are toinvestigate the anomalyand toleave the Dark Aether. Though these objectives may seem simple on paper, players will have to deal with high-tier enemies, along with facing an Aether Worm boss. Completing Bad Signal yields two rewards: theSo Many Teeth Charm and 10,000XP.

Investigating The Anomaly

To complete the very first objective of Bad Signal, you will need toinvestigate the anomaly. The anomaly tied to this mission can befound along the south borderof theTier III High Threat Zone. When heading over to this location, you will find a gateway to the Dark Aether. Interacting with it, and voting via your tac map, will deploy you into the Dark Aether, thus wrapping up the first objective.

The Dark Aether for Bad Signal is theequivalent of the Tier II Zone on Urzikstan. We suggest bringing a weapon upgraded to Legendary rarity or higher, along with Pack-A-Punching it to at least Tier II. Self Revives are also a lifesaver for the upcoming boss fight.

Leaving The Dark Aether

Breaking The Four Seals

Upon entering the Dark Aether, you will be presented with an objective tobreak a total of 4 seals. These seals will be marked for you, making them quite easy to locate. To break each seal, you will need to head to each one and interact with them. Doing so will activate each seal. Once activated, Zombies will begin to spawn around it.

You then will need topower each seal up with Zombie soulsby eliminating a sufficient number of them within the seal’s radius of effect. Once the seal has enough Zombie souls, it will disappear. Simply repeat this step for each of the 4 seals to complete this objective.

Fighting The Gorm’gant & Leaving The Dark Aether

Once the 4 seals have been broken, you will be given the objective toleave the Dark Aether. A gateway, much like the one you used to enter the Dark Aether in the first place, will be marked for you. Heading over to this location willtrigger the Gorm’gant to spawn, which you will need todefeat before you can leave the Dark Aether.

The Gorm’gant is a boss that is very similar to the one you had to fight in the Act III Story Mission: Defeat Zakhaev. However, this boss is much more challenging than the first. The most effective way of defeating the Gorm’gant is todish out damage to its glowing weak points. While fighting this boss, it will deploy a variety of different countermeasures to deal with you. These include the following:

Once you have defeated the Gorm’gant, a Reward Rift will spawn in its place. In this Reward Rift, you willfind a Locked Diary, which will need to be extracted for a future mission.
