A teaser visual for the anime adaptation ofMieruko-chanwas released on 12th August 2021 and fans are dying to know what it looks like as well as wanting to know when the series will premiere.
Mieruko-chan, otherwise known asThe Girl Who Can See Themis a manga series written by Tomoki Izumi. The series was released in 2018 and has been going strong since.
In March 2021,news brokethat the popular manga series would be getting an anime adaptation. The series premise will follow Miko Yotsuya, a high school student who one day begins to see ghosts and spirits. To live out a normal life she tries to ignore their existence.
Mieruko-Chan: New key visual
A new key visual for the anime was released on 12th August 2021 showing the main characters that would be featured in the anime, alongside the protagonist, Miko Yotsuya, who has long black hair.
The visual shows Miko’s best friend Hana Yurikawa to the left of her and Yulia NikaidÅ, a classmate of the other two. Yulia is shown to know about Miko’s ability in thetrailerso their dynamic together is not yet known but it appears that she wants Miko to join her in exorcising the spirits. Cast and crew for the upcoming anime
Along with the teaser visual, the names of cast members was also released and are as follows:
As these are the three main characters, they are the only cast to have been named at the time of writing. However, we do know thatYuki Ogawa will be directingthe anime while Kenta Ihara supervises and writes the scripts.
Chief animation director and character designer will be Chikashi Kadekaru, with Makoto Uno designing monsters. Kana Utatane has also been named as the composer for the anime.
When and where will the anime release?
The series is currently scheduled to premiere on Japanese broadcasting channels Tokyo MX, BS NTV, AT-X and other channels in October 2021. An exact release date has not yet been released but we expect an announcement to be made in the coming weeks.
Anime News Networksays “Kadokawa’sYouTubechannel will host a special with the cast on July 28.”. Both Funimation and Crunchyroll have announced the anime adaptation, though neither has said they will be streaming it for international fans, though we expect one of the streaming giants will be picking up the series.
Should the series release on Crunchyroll it will cost viewers £6.50 a month for a subscription and access to the anime and should it be on Funimation, a subscription will cost £4.99GBP a month.
