While BioWare has made it public that they are developing the next entry in theMass Effectfranchise (which we’re dubbing “Mass Effect 5”), few gameplay details about it have been made available.
However, thanks to the sharp eye of one Mass Effect fan, it seems BioWare might have teased that the Paragon/Renegade system featured in Mass Effect 1-3 will be making a return.

Mass Effect Actor Doesn’t Want You To Deny Jennifer Hale’s “Excellent” Commander Shepard Performance
Mass Effect’s Mark Meer also had a rare time voicing alien soundsets for BioWare.
Could This Mass Effect 5 Image Be Teasing the Paragon Symbol?
As you can see, the image aligns somewhat to the Paragon symbol used in the previous Mass Effect games. Of course, there is the chance that this is purely coincidental as well.
Perhaps what adds fuel to the fire is how BioWare Executive Producer Mike Gamble comments on the franchise’s morality mechanic. According to Gamble, more players chose to play as a Paragon, but it would have been meaningless if there was no Renegade option.

This doesn’t guarantee we’ll see the familiar Paragon vs. Renegade morality mechanics surface in the next Mass Effect. While the first three games in the trilogy featured it, the last mainline entry, Mass Effect Andromeda, eschewed it for a “tone” system that uses four possible choices: emotional, logical, casual, and professional.
Exodus Gameplay Trailer From Former BioWare Dev Continues Mass Effect’s Legacy
The latest trailer for Exodus, a sci-fi RPG from a former BioWare Developer, appears to have taken heavy inspiration from the Mass Effect titles.
In Mass Effect 1-3, players can choose the Paragon or Renegade choice in specific scenarios, and what they decide can define the outcome. If you prefer settling arguments amicably, then chances are you usually choose the Paragon option.

However, if your Commander Shepard was tired of all the annoyances the universe was slinging at him/her (like I was), then you choose the Renegade option, where you settle things your way. I still remember the time my Commander Shepard decked a reporter for being an ass. Ah, what fun times!
While there’s not a lot of info about the next Mass Effect game, what we do know is that itwill be photorealistic according to BioWare, so don’t expect it to follow the same visual style as the studio’s most recent release,Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

We’re far from getting another Mass Effect game in our hands, but if you want to experience the sci-fi epic in all its glory, go pick up Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which houses the first three games in the franchise. It’s one heck of ride, possibly BioWare’s finest work to date.
