After MCU’s recent series for Disney+Echohit the streamer, the road to MCU’s very own reboot ofDaredevilshow came closer with elevated anticipation among fans. WhileEcho’s Kingpin star Vincent D’Onofrio is confirmed to return toDaredevil: Born Again, a new rumor doesn’t look good for one originalDaredevilstar.

Deborah Ann Wol’s Karen Page has almost been a regular in the MCU’s original Netflix show. While some of the characters are being recast for the reboot including D’Onofrio, Woll’s return is not as promising as the street-level antagonist in the Superhero brand.

Bad News For Deborah Ann Woll’s Fans
Deborah Ann Wollwho appeared in the originalDaredevilseries for Netflix with significant screen time may not have the same space in the upcomingDaredevil: Born Again. The stars’ return, as the latest information suggests, is imminent but her screen time will be minimal.
Woll’s Karen Page as as Matt Murdock’s trusted associate, has been among the primary faces in Netflix’s show. However, insiderDaniel Richtmanvia Patreon revealed that Woll will only appear in three episodes ofDaredevil: Born Again.

For fans of Woll’s character, the minimal appearance of the star might be upsetting but it is an indicator hinting at the partial change in the storyline. Of course, the show has been one of the most hyped upcoming releases but leaving out much of Woll’s potential screentime resonates with the WandaVision-Ralph Bohner incident. Fans were all hyped in expectingX-Men’s Quicksilver played byEvan Petersor Avengers’Aaron Taylor-Johnsonversion but after such a build-up it turns out to be just a minimal distraction in the show.

Netflix vs. MCU’sDaredevil— The Major Difference
One this is certain,Daredevil: Born Againwill not be a continuation of the Netflix show on the character. MCU might do things a little differently.Charlie Coxappeared in more than one cameos in a few MCU projects indicating the nature of the hero and the potential character arc. His cameos including the light-hearted comedy,She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,indicate that the MCU show might not adhere to Netflix’s intense dark undertone but the character is expected to remain the same.“It should be and it is always the same character,”Cox toldEntertainment Weekly.“The difference is just like with people, we morph and change and are very different based on what’s going on in our lives,”he added.
“The Matt Murdock from the Netflix show, that world and what was going on for Matt meant that most of the time we were living with a man who had a huge amount of pressure and strain, and tonally the show was very dark and gritty and heavy. I don’t know what the new show will be like, but when I came over to do Spider-Man and She-Hulk, the tone is much more lighthearted and tongue in cheek and fun and witty and full of levity, so the hope was that Matt can fit into that world and participate in it without it being a different character, a different person. I certainly had a really good time exploring that, experimenting with it, and seeing if it fit.”

In another interview withVariety, the actor revealed that the story while following almost the same essence of the character will be different but“they stop back at the beginning of Murdock’s journey as a little boy and they tell the whole origin story again. So maybe we’ll get to do that. I don’t know.”
Daredevil: Born Againis expected to hit Disney+ in 2025.
