Lycoris Recoil episode 7 is happening right after the series got into way more serious territory than usual, showing Chisato in danger for the first time ever, as Majima aka not-Kirito managed to find one of her weaknesses: hindering her vision. The series also heavily hinted that Majima is an Alan Children himself, setting up the rivalry between him and Chisato and their upcoming rematch.

The series is definitely taking a more serious turn now that we’re past the halfway point. Though even episode 6 itself ended on a lighter note, with Takina figuring out how to beat Chisato at Rock Paper Scissors.

As a reminder, Lycoris Recoil is an original anime based on ideas from Asaura, the LN author known for Ben-To. The series will only be 13 episodes / one cour -unless more gets announced by Aniplex later on- so we’re slowly reaching the ending.

Lycoris Recoil episode 7 will air in Japan onSaturday, August 13th, 2022, at 11:30 PM JST (10:30 AM ET). As usual, be wary of spoilers on social media especially if you’re a Japanese speaker, as the series is so popular that hashtags related to it will trend. Last week, “male Lycoris / 男の子版リコリス” was most notably trending when Chisato revealed that male orphans also get recruited into DA and are called LilyBell.

In the US and most territories outside Japan,Crunchyrollis the sole way to watch the series legally. Here’s the exact release time for the seventh episode in several regions:

As a side note, Lycoris Recoil, like pretty much every anime every season, also has its own weekly radio show with the seiyuu. You should definitely give it a listen. A spinoff novel focusing on the characters' daily life at the café will also be released in Japan onSeptember 9.

Last but not least, don’t forget to watch the next episode preview as well. Probably to save a few seconds of footage for the episode itself, previews in Lycoris Recoil aren’t shown at the end of each episode but are instead uploaded to the net a few days before the next episode airs,on the series' official Twitter account. There are many anime series that do this nowadays.

Lycoris Recoil is using this to its advantage by making its next episode previews much longer than the norm, with skits featuring the characters. This time for episode 7, we have Majima (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and Robota (Yuki Sakakihara, new seiyuu who’s also a singer in several Joseimuke franchises most notably Hypnosis Mic) continuing their antics from episode 6.

In the preview, Majima is heard asking Robota for more info on Chisato and actually apologizing for interrupting him while recording the preview. Robota then reveals he found out some new info: Chisato was wearing trunks at some point (a reference to episode 4). Majima and Robota then start discussing which type of underwear they prefer wearing: trunks for Robota, and black briefs for Majima, who then gets pissed, thinking briefs wearers are looked down upon.

Moreover, seeing Robota is doing the preview, Japanese fans are jokingly replying “Walnut is the god of hackers” to the preview tweet. Replicating what happens in episode 6 itself.
