LPL 2022 Summer Split carries on with fast-paced, action-fuelled games identified with its region. Week eight of the regular season hosted two vital series for the course of the standings. JD Gaming went up against Victory Five to reinforce their top place, whileTop Esportstook on ThunderTalk Gaming, who were recently struggling in the blink of playoff places. Both teams with better rankings, JDG and TES, came out victorious as they widened the gap between the other perennial teams like Royal Never Give Up, Edward Gaming, and Weibo Gaming.
There were also disappointing results for some talented line-ups, such as LNG Esports with Lee ‘‘Tarzan’’ Seung-Yong and Kim ‘‘Doinb’’ Tae-Sang. They moved behind Anyone’s Legend and Oh My God with a subpar 6-7 game score due to their disjointed fashion against Edward Gaming, another underperformed team struggling to find a way out of the mid-pack. For those who couldn’t watch the games, here is a recap of what happened in the first five days of week eight.
Top Esports has put a great showing against competent teams in the league until now. Having captured a splendid eleven-game winning streak since their only loss against JDG in the first week, they annihilated ThunderTalk Gaming in today’s series to claim the top spot. Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo showed his intent to lead his teammates to finish the regular season in first place, leaving his mark on the series with an unusual pick, Sivir.
Wang “Hope” Jie Is Better Than Ever, JDG Is Still In The Race
JD Gaming, on the other hand, is having a tiresome week, as they will square up against Royal Never Give Up on their second series. After taking down Victory Five with the help of their bot laner, Wang “Hope” Jie, who performed much better than forecast even against Ying Qi “Photic” Shen’s Draven, they will withstand stiff RNG challenge to stay on top.
ThunderTalk Gaming,FunPlus Phoenix, and Bilibili Gaming will go all out to clinch their playoff spot, while only two weeks left until the end of the regular split. On the flip side, Oh My God and LNG Esports are still in danger if they do not fix their macro game problems giving trouble to them in the late phase.
Week eight will be completed with some adrenalin-packed weekend games between top-tier teams. JDGaming will go up against Royal Never Give Up, while Victory Five will face off against Oh My God to make up for their encouraging loss in the previous series. Edward Gaming, on the other hand, will play against Rare Atom, while LNG Esports and Team WE will clash on the closing series of the week. You can watch all the games on the official LPLTwitchchannel.
