Riot Gameshas revealed the ability descriptions ofLeague of Legends’ newest champion, Milio.

Milio is the second champion from Ixtal, with the first being Qiyana. His family was exiled to a border village generations ago and Milio wants to right this generational wrong through his magic. He has ventured out int other wilds of Ixtal to make this a reality.

Milio has mastered the element of fire, employing a handmade backpack he calls a furnasita to host an eternal flame. His flames are anthropomorphic and he calls them his ‘Fuemigo’, even going so far as to project the personalities of his family members onto the flames. Interestingly, Riot notes that since Milio hasn’t received any formal training, his expression of his elemental powers is less rigid than Qiyana’s.

Champion Abilities

Passive - Fired Up!

Milio’s abilities enchant allies on touch, making their next damage deal a burst of extra damage and burn the target.

Q - Ultra Mega Fire Kick

Milio kicks a ball that knocks back an enemy. The ball launches upward on hit and falls toward the enemy, damaging and slowing enemies in the area upon impact.

W - Cozy Campfire

Milio creates an empowering zone that heals allies and increases attack range to those inside. The zone follows the ally nearest to the cast point.

E - Warm Hugs

Milio tosses a shield to an ally, temporarily increasing their movement speed.

R - Breath of Life

Milio unleashes a wave of soothing flames that heal and remove crowd control effects from allies in range.

Speaking on Milio’s design philosophy, game designer Myles “Riot Emizery” Salholm remarked, “The goal was to make an enchanter that felt like it fit in with the rest of the enchanter roster and didn’t stick out like a sore thumb. But still someone who brought something new to the role so enchanter players would have a new and interesting gameplay experience.”

He continued, “One: he’s high energy. I wanted to try and make it feel like there’s a lot of movement and a lot of excitement in his actions. But two is making him feel kind of annoying like a bratty younger brother to some degree. The way that he ends up interacting with you in lane is that he’s not going to outright kill you, but he’ll keep annoying you until you get so fed up that you try and kill him.”

No release date has been confirmed for Milio yet, but Riot may be targeting patch 13.6 (March 22).
