What Are Monoliths?
The Monolith of Fate is where you will spend most of your time in the endgame.While this area, known as The End of Time, is available to you relatively early, you won’t be able to take on the place just yet. When you do reach the end of the game, you can head to places likedungeons(where you can find thePeak of the Mountain) or the Arena. However, you won’t find nearly as much to do there as you will at The End of Time. Monoliths are branching areas that connect together to form a massive place that players can go to in order to obtain some amazing endgame rewards and hone their skills to be the best that they can be. If you want to understand Monoliths you will need to understand the following:
How To Complete Monoliths
Once you enter a Monolith, you will be given certain quests that you need to complete before you can finish that Monolith.You may need to find an NPC, defeat waves of monsters, or even reach the end of the Monolith. Once you progress through the quests and objectives, you will increase the amount of the Monolith that you have done.
What Are Echoes And Timelines?
After you enter a Monolith, you can pick a Timeline (this will either be regular or legendary and represent regular Monoliths and Empowered Monoliths) and then an Echo.Timelines will determine the difficulty of your Monolith and echoes are individual zones within those Timelines. You will want to see what the Echo Information section says about each Echo before you enter it.
Some Echos may have modifiers that change the difficulty by increasing the enemy’s damage or decreasing your character’s stats. You want to make sure you know what you’re getting into before you enter an Echo.
What Is Corruption?
Corruption is another layer of difficulty for monoliths.The farther along you are in your Monolith journey, the more Corruption you will encounter.The more Corruption there is, the more difficult enemies are, but the better the rewards you may obtain.You will need to defeat the Shade of Orobyss far away from the start if you want to increase Corruption.
What Are Empowered Monoliths?
Empowered Monoliths are regular Monoliths that have had an increase in their difficulty. These Monoliths are much more challenging than the regular ones, but they are also all the more rewarding. One of the biggest challenges is that Corruption will start at level 100, which is twice as much as the maximum for regular Monoliths. In order to unlock Empowered Monoliths, you will need to complete the Timelines for the Spirits of Fire, Last Ruin, and Age of Winter Monoliths. Once that is done, you can hop into the Empowered versions. You will find that there are more challenges to these Empowered Monoliths, but you will also find that you will gain a lot more rewards.
