We have less than two weeks to go untilGod of WarRagnarok hits its launch, and PlayStation has already released the game’s officiallaunch trailer. The trailer is brief at just 30 seconds long, but it packs a lot of content into a short time frame, including what appears to be a pact between Kratos and the Norse god of war, Tyr.

In the launch trailer, a grizzly voice, presumably Tyr’s, can be heard saying “Fate only binds you if you let it” as a voiceover plays over various gameplay and cinematic scenes. Then, near the end of the trailer, as Kratos and Tyr grasp hands, the voice adds, “We will make our own destiny.”

A good deal of information on Tyr hasalready leakedinto some corners of the Internet, but for those of us who have been avoiding spoilers, the apparent alliance between the two gods of war may come as a surprise. The last iteration of God of War led the players to believe that Tyr had previously died, although it seems those were simply rumors spread by Odin.

Tyr is one of the sons of Odin, the chief Norse god and obvious choice for a big bad in what is to be the final game inKratos' Norse Saga. Additionally, he is half brother to Baldur, whom Kratos dispatched to protect Freya at the end of the last installment, and Thor, who appears to be menacingly approaching Kratos and Atreus in another of the launch trailer’s scenes.

The new trailer comes just two days after PlayStation’s YouTube channel released anearly nine-minute videofeaturing its development team talking about the upcoming title’s enemies and combat. God of War Ragnarok appears as though it will be atruly massive game, coming in at roughly 84 to 107 gigabytes of download size depending on the console used.

God of War Ragnarok will release November 9 exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
