In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll come across all sorts of notes and maps scribbled on parchment.
Some of them are used for world-building, while others are used as MacGuffins to get quests started. In the case of the X Marks The Spot questline, it’s very much a case of the latter.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Script The Longest In Game History Claims Director
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s script is said to be the longest in game history according to its director.
In this quest, you’ll have the option of nabbing a treasure map, but finding where this alleged treasure is a little harder than it might first seem.

So, to help you locate the treasure’s hiding spot and deal with everything that comes thereafter, we have a guide to help you.
Getting The Treasure Map
Getting the treasure map is the easiest part of this quest. Upon visiting the local innkeeper in Pschitoky, you’ll hear a tip that a construction worker in town is in need of men for work.
So head down to the area under construction in town, and you’ll find Hired Hand Krizhan usually sawing away at something. He’s not in any need of day laborers, but he does have something a little more peculiar to offer.

A treasure map, which allegedly leads to some treasure not to far from Pschitoky. However, he’s not willing to hand it over for free, and he can’t be persuaded.

There’s no way around it. You need to part with 100 Groschen for the map, which is steep, but I assure you, you’ll make this back and more, so hand it over.
Finding The Treasure’s Location
After you purchase the map, the quest officially begins, but you won’t be given a quest marker. Instead, you’ll have to actually look at the map and ride out to where the ‘X’ is.
This can be tricky as it’s not the most exact map, and the mineshaft you are looking for is far from distinct. So, I’ll include an exact location of where this place is for anyone who doesn’t want to agonize over this.

However, for those who want to do their best to find it themselves, this area is located roughly north of Kuttenburg and past the nearby Vineyard. Then, you’ll want to head east as soon as you reach the fork in the road.
Fighting The Bandits
Upon arriving at the camp, you’ll come to realize that you aren’t the only one who is aware of this treasure, as there are a bunch of bandits in the camp. None of those outside the mineshaft are particularly hard to kill, but I would still suggest using the cover of nightfall to get a few east stealth kills in.
The only real issue here is the Bandit Leader, who is tough, has great armor and can be a real thorn in your side. However, if you take out the others first before luring them out of the mineshaft, you can simply use Mutt to attack him and leave him open to quickfire attacks.
Once they are dealt with, loot the body of the Bandit Leader, and you’ll find the very same treasure map you have in your possession. So, if you put two and two together, you’ll realize that Krizhan has something to do with all of this.
Be sure to loot the camp, as there is some great armor to be had and a bunch of Gloschen that will make up for the money you used to pay for the map. Then, once you’re satisfied, head back to Pschitoky.
How To Deal With Krizhan
Upon returning to the camp you’ll be able to confront Krizhan, and provided you are able to pass one of the multiple skill checks on offer, they will eventually confess that the map was a forgery of his own doing.
He has been using this trick to make money to return to Prague for his studies, but in the process, he has been sending money-hungry bandits on merry-goose chases.
You can end this quest in one of two ways. You can either ask him to repay you the money you spent on the map. Or alternatively, you can allow them to keep the money.
As much as money is great in the short term, it’s actually better to allow Krizhan to keep the cash. Mainly because if you do, he will offer his services as a skilled teacher, and he can teach apprentice-level skills in Craftsmanship, scholarship, and Drinking.
If you really want the cash, go ahead, but the real reward here is having a versatile skill teacher in your debt.
Why Is There So Much Action In My RPG?
I’d honestly say I’ve had enough of action in my RPGs, as front-facing combat features have overtaken the interactive narratives I play them for.
