Svatava directs you to Bylany to search for her husband. Before heading out, speak with her daughter, Vendula. If you pass a skill check, she’ll reveal that Mikush was last seen in a heated argument over a game of dice.

Your next stop is the tavern in Bylany, where you’ll find Chernik. To get him to talk, youcan challenge him to agame of dice, use intimidation (which is more effective than persuasion), or simplypay him 100 Groschenfor the information. Once convinced, Chernik will send you to Drat.

Saving Mikush and his Family

The bandit camp is where Mikush is being held. You must fight the bandits—at least at first.Defeat one, and the other may surrenderafter taking some damage. If you accept their surrender, they’ll give you the full story. Whether you kill them or spare them after, it won’t impact the quest’s outcome.

Mikush is gravely injured, and while you’ll be presented with difficult skill checks, don’t worry if you fail. The key to saving him is first cleaning his wound with schnapps (found by the fire), treating him with feverfew herbs (located at the base of some trees to the northwest), and administering a potion (found inside the tent). Finally, apply bandages and, if you wish, say a prayer.

There’sno guaranteeMikush survives his wounds. He doesn’t need to live for you to complete the quest, however, and it doesn’t affect the ending.

Whether Mikush is alive or dead, there’s no time to lose: you need to head back to his lodge as fast as possible. Once there, you may attempt tonegotiate for the family’s safety. However, the surefire way to secure their release is by paying the bandit a100-Groschen bribe.

Once the bandit lets Vendula go,you can kill himto get your money back!

Buried Treasure

If Mikush survives, he’ll return during your subsequent conversation with Svatava. She’ll ask you to retrieve their inheritance, which is buried somewhere nearby. Head to Mesoles and thentravel southwest of the quest marker along the treeline until you find disturbed ground. If you don’t have a shovel, look for a spade near the handcart. Digging up the hidden treasure reveals a chest containing 600 Groschen and valuables worth an additional 200 Groschen.

There’s no rewardfor returning these goods to Svatava. you may lie to her to keep some (or all) of the rewards, or give them to her. Either way, speaking to her one last time ends the quest.
