How To Start The Fifth Commandment
To begin The Fifth Commandment quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll first need tofinish the main quest calledInto the Underworld.
Once complete, travel to Kuttenber’s Hangman’s Halter Tavern and speak to Katherine. She’ll tell you about a recent murder, which she feels she may be partially responsible for. Katherine asks you to get to the bottom of things and find out the truth, officially starting things off.

Investigating The Murder
To begin your investigation, head to the chapel just north of the tavern, where you’ll find Alice’s body covered by a white blanket inside the morgue.Be sure to engage with every dialogue optionwhile examining her to uncover all possible clues, then find the Gravedigger who should be in the nearby cemetery.
If he’s not there, you can find him at his house; simply follow the map marker.

The Gravedigger is originally hesitant to help you, offering a couple of speech checks to convince him of your good intentions.
Be honest:explain that you’re investigating the recent crime because Henry fears the same fate could befall one of his friends.

The gravedigger will tell you about Barbora, Alice’s friend, who you’re able to now find next to the body.Talking to Barbora gets you the nameof a scribe who used to work for the Bailiff: Lumir.
(Optional): Investigate the Crime Scene
Before finding Lumir, you can check out the crime scene. Alice was murdered near a small pond on the far side of town. Follow the quest marker on your map to reach the location and investigate the pool of blood you’ll find there.Speak with any nearby witnessesand exhaust all dialogue options to gain more insight into what happened.
Buy (or make) either ahair of the dog potionor some booze before speaking to the scribe.
You’ll encounter Lumir in a rough state, hunched over and sick from too much to drink. To get him talking, you may use a Hair o’ the Dog potion, offer him more to drink, or simply wait a few hours for him to sober up. Once he’s regained his senses, Lumir reveals that Alice’s murder was actually the most recent in what appears to bea series offivesuspected killings.
Although two of the victims’ bodies were never recovered, both were last seen near the Hole in the Wall tavern, a well-known haven for lowlifes. A third victim was raised by Father Prokop, who preaches nearby.
Investigating The Other Murders
Your ultimate destination is the tavern, but the cemetery is closer, so you might as well start there. Father Prokop spends much of his time in the chapel:speak with him to learn that he was Jarka’s uncle, and that she was pregnant before she died. He suspects a bard named William, but has no hard evidence.
Make your way to the Hole in the Wall tavern in eastern Kuttenberg. The innkeeper there, Mole, must be persuaded or bribed to talk. Either way, you’ll learn more about Stanya- and a charcoal burner named Barton she was seeing, who lives south of Kuttenberg.Mole also mentions William the Bard. Suspicious, mm?
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Trophy & Achievement Guide
You have an open-world experience with challenging combat, complex quest lines, and a story richer than a Starbucks hot chocolate. Why not 100% it?
Don’t leave without speaking to Strnad in the backyard. He’s aggressive, but if you pass a difficult speech check (or simply beat him up), he’ll tell you about Zdena and her connection to a fence named Pint in Rabstein.
Exhaust every dialogue option every time you get the chance. Not only are hints and clues hidden away in conversation, but quests like this afford a good chance to gain experience in the Speech skill!
Finding Stanya and Zdena
Pint can usually be found near the mill. He’ll cooperate if you tell him you’re not aligned with Strnad, pointing you toward Zdena’s hideout.
Follow the trail marked on your map to a ford with a noticeable bloodstain. If youhave Mutt with you, showing him Zdena’s scarf will speed things up. Either way, going uphill leads to her body—anda signet ring tucked away in a nearby basket.
Barton is your next target, living just south of Kuttenberg. If you pass a few Hard speech checks, he’ll reveal Stanya’s location:hiding in the hut right behind him—and that she’s still alive!
A few speech checks later, she’ll tell you what she remembers from the attack: thatthere were actuallytwoculprits, one of whom was a German with a strong grip. A miner, perhaps, or a swordsman?
Optional: Investigate William the Minstrel at the Black Horse Tavern
Since William’s name keeps surfacing, you might as well confront him before returning to Lumir. You can find the bard at the Black Horse Tavern in Kuttenberg.
It doesn’t matterwhether you pass the hard or easy speech checks:both will have William confessing, although intimidating him will alsocost you some local reputation.
Alas, the young man might chase skirts, but he lacks the dangerous strength that Stanya described. Now that you’ve crossed a suspect off your list, it’s time to regroup with Lumir.
Lumir and Katherina both have their suspicions, but ensure you exhaust all other dialogue options before pointing fingers, because the truth is that the killer isneither’ssuspect.
Bring up von Grolles whenever you’re able to, and you’llnarrow in on the sinister third option. Of course, suspicions are not enough: you need hard evidence. Head to their house and talk to their servant out front. Choose to pose as a Doctor or a sword instructorto gain access to their house.
If you’ve completedArs Dimicatoriayoucan automatically succeedif posing as a swordsman by claiming Menhard sent you. However, if you pose as a doctor and feed von Grolles aPainkiller DecoctionandDigestive Potionyou’ll gain extra reputation and 275 groschen.
Once inside, head in through the first door at the top of the stairs andpick the locks of the chests to find trophiestaken from the victims, confirming your suspicions. Return to Lumir to plan the arrest of Hendl and Thaddeus, using Katherine as bait.
Following the cutscene, you’ll get the opportunity to fight Thaddeus. Whether you kill him or let justice deal with him has no impact on the end of the quest.
Race to rescue Katherine, only to findshe’s already taken down Madeline. If you’re pursuing a romance with Katherine, let her exact her revenge; otherwise, it’s your call.
The quest wraps up with a reward of 150 groschen, an improved speech skill, and a Kuttenberg Knight Shield.
