If you’re here, that means you’ve already taken down both Canker and Handsome Charlie for your buddy, Gules of Semine inKingdom Come: Deliverance2.

Once again, Gules must ask too much of you and send you off to try to have a stern conversation with his former right-hand-man, Johnny The Gob.

Johnny Crowd Fight KCD2

Unlike Canker and Charlie before him, Gules really prefers you leave Johnny alive after your interaction with him. Of course, requests like these are sometimes easier said than done in medieval Bohemia, but maybe there’s something Henry can work out.

Let’s go check in with Gules once again and see how this one unfolds.

Johnny Talk KCD2

Hear Gules' Request

A few days after killing Handsome Charlie, Gules will have his next quest ready for you in Semine. Speak with him to learn about Johnny The Gob.

This request, however, differs from his previous asks from Gules. Johnny is someone that Gules respects and has a rich history with, so he’d greatly prefer that Henry simply persuade him to permanently leave town instead of killing him.

Johnny Weighted Die KCD2

Even with this extra request, Gules still needs proof of Henry’s success, so he’ll ask you to bring back Johnny’s unique shield to show that the job is done.

Extra optional dialogue here will reveal that Johnny’s band is the same one that ambushed Henry and Hans at the start of the game, so here’s a chance for some payback.

Negotiate With Johnny

Johnny and his squad are camped out on the western side of Rocktower Pond. There is a lot of tall grass to sneak around in towards the west side of the camp, but there’s no avoiding eventually having to take out everyone but Johnny.

Since Gules needs Johnny alive, here’s where this particular quest gets a little more tricky than the others. Johnny needs to be left for last, so try to leave as much space between the two of you as possible and begin to slowly chip away at the rest of the camp members.

Johnny Gules End KCD2

This is the largest band you’ve faced yet for Gules, with around six bandits to defeat before leaving Johnny isolated.

Using Mutt in this fight is a risk. He’ll sometimes lock onto his next target after taking down his first without your command, so it’s possible he can kill Johnny without you wanting him to. If you can manage the fight solo, it’s best to leave Mutt out of this one.

With only Johnny remaining, carefully land one hit at a time to make sure you don’t accidentally murder him.

Look for the “Chat” option to appear on the side of the screen, and you can mention to him mid-fight that Gules sent you.

For a while, Johnny will ignore the mention of his friend, but this dialogue eventually convinces him to yield once he’s sufficiently roughed up.

Speak with Johnny, and he’ll agree to leave the region and never come back as a favor to Gules (and also to you for sparing his life).

Ask for his shield, and he’ll hand it over without any further struggle before skipping town.

Pick The Lock In The Cave

At the back of the camp is a cave that features a locked chest. Unlike previous Gules' requests, none of the slain bandits on the ground hold the keys, so you’ll actually need to pick this lock open.

For your efforts, you’ll receive aWeighted Die. When used in a game of dice, the weighted die is more likely to roll ones, which makes it one of the most useful special dice in the entire game.

The game should auto-save for you right after getting Johnny to agree to leave town, so you’re able to always re-load this save if you break all your lockpicks.

Receive Gules' Gratitude

Report back to Gules once again, and he’ll be extra grateful this time for following his directions so faithfully and leaving his friend alive.

Once again, you may keep the item Gules requested if you simply ask during this closing dialogue. Johnny’s shield is likely worse in terms of stats than what you already have at this point in the game, but it looks amazing.

With that, there’s only one more target remaining that Gules will send you after. Check back in after a couple of days.
