Kevin Feige TalksShang-Chi 2

Speaking toComicBook.com, Feige mentioned his emotional paradox when it comes to a feature release starring an entirely new block of characters. “I’m always confident and nervous in equal proportions,” Feige admitted when referencing the inclusion of these characters in the MCU’s future.

Feige spoke about the way he gauges a film’s success, narrowing it down to how the fans react to the supporting characters as well as the main superhero. Early reviews from fans and professionals have given Feige “great hope” in seeing the characters fromShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringscontinue to flourish within the MCU.

“We certainly have many ideas of where to take them and where to put them,” Feige continued, alluding to the fact that the team already has plans for a sequel. The Marvel boss also added how “heartening” it was to see fans’ appreciation for these new characters, because the Marvel team believe they are “spectacular” with “great potential” to fill out future MCU phases.
