Jujutsu Kaisen’s Gojo Satoru is popular for his bold one-liners as much as his immense power. His signature catchphrase, “I’m the strongest,” that he uses throughout the series is not just a boast; it’s a fact. He knows he’s the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer, and he’s not afraid to say it.

However, in a strikingly beautiful scene in Season 2, Episode 4, Gojo utters a line that gives even his greatest fans pause: “Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am honored.” This mystical proclamation seems oddly profound and poetic for the normally cocky Gojo.
Gojo Fights Back
The climactic battle between Gojo Satoru and Toji Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen showed why Gojo is one of the rarest to be born after several generations. AfterGojo got defeatedin their initial encounter, he was determined to prove his strength in the rematch. He concentrated and multiplied all the negative cursed energy to make it positive and used it to heal himself.
This process is known as the Reversed Cursed Tenchique, which Gojo was unable to master up until this point. Now as Toji unleashed attack after attack, Gojo calmly avoided them all, showcasing his incredible speed and agility. When it was his turn to attack, Gojo harnessed the full potential of his Limitless cursed technique, hitting Toji with blasts of infinite energy.
Knowing that Toji still posed a threat with the Inverted Spear of Heaven, Gojo continued to demonstrate his mastery by dodging the spear’s strikes. After avoiding the deadly weapon, Gojo struck the final blow with hisHollow Technique: Purple, obliterating Toji’s upper half. With his enemy defeated, Gojo states, “I alone am honored throughout Heaven and Earth.”
Gojo Achieves Enlightenment
Gojo Satoru’s declaration of being the “Honored One” while striking his iconic pose is one of the most memorable scenes in Jujutsu Kaisen. In the manga panel, Gojo floats midair with his arms wide while saying this dialogue.This moment (after he successfully used the very rare Purple technique) marks Gojo’s transition into an enlightened state of being. The anime adaptation elected to portray this scene with Gojo bathed in divine light, evoking connotations of godhood.
His pose against a painted sky backdrop makes him the focal point. While both manga and anime aim to convey Gojo’s ascendance, the anime’s visual theatrics provide additional grandeur. However,Netflix detracts from the scene’s gravitas with a weaker subtitle: “Above and below, only I dominate.”
This line lacks the eloquence of the original manga dialogue and bluntly states Gojo’s dominance. For a moment centered on Gojo entering an exalted state, the Netflix subtitle comes across as egoistic rather than enlightened. Nonetheless, Gojo’s dramatic pose, paired with his proclamation, cements this as an impactful highlight in Jujutsu Kaisen.
The Origin Of Honored One Title
The title “The Honored One” is one of the many epithets used for Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, in Buddhist texts. The Buddha didn’t claim divinity or special status in the way that it might be understood in some other religious traditions. Instead, he is “honored” because of his profound insight into the nature of reality. His enlightened vision allowed him to perceive the interconnectedness of all things and to see how every phenomenon in the universe is linked to every other phenomenon.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo’s eyes shimmer with a limitless light. It’s as though his eyes are portals that allow one to gaze into the very fabric of existence. Gojo may not be omniscient, but when he fights Toji in that floating state, his eyes glitter more than usual – and they look more profound.With his Purple technique, Gojo now understands the core of Jujutsu sorcery.
Who Is The Honored One Between Sukuna & Gojo?
Sukuna has also been referred to as The Honored One in both manga and anime. However, in the anime, Nanami refers to him as such, while in the manga, it is the narrator. The title “Honored One” is only for themost powerfuland enlightened jujutsu sorcerers. Both Sukuna and Gojo have good claims to this prestigious title. Sukuna was known as the undisputed King of Curses in the Heian era, with huge cursed energy and deadly techniques. He defeated many sorcerers and spread fear across the land.
Even a thousand years later, his sinister legend continues. Though they have both proven their strength against worthy foes, who is the real “Honored One” remains unsettled.Their long-awaited confrontationis a legendary battle happening in the manga finale. Only time will tell if the old king or the prodigy of today emerges victorious and claims the coveted title “Honored One.” For now, the jujutsu world watches their showdown with bated breath.
