Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 finale ended the Shibuya Incident arc. The arc was filled with the deaths of fan-favorite characters. It will be some time before the fandom recovers from all the suffering. The season finale left the fans on a cliffhanger after Yuta Okkotsu came under a binding vow to kill Yuji Itadori, who is Ryomen Sukuna’s vessel. The Higher-Ups planned this since Satoru Gojo was not around.
The Higher-Ups also passed the death sentences for Pseudo-Geto, a.k.a. Kenjaku, and Masamichi Yaga, the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High. They also prohibited the Jujutsu sorcerers from unsealing Satoru Gojo. For now, only Yuji Itadori’s execution statement was passed in the anime, and the fans could not help but wonder how the protagonist would escape his execution, especially from a Special-grade sorcerer.
Itadori’s Extermination Arc Will Feature Yuta Okkotsu vs. Yuji Itadori
Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 finale showed a different version of Yuta Okkotsu. The forever-smiling individual became dead serious and was ready to execute Ryomen Sukuna’s vessel. He said that even though Yuji is Satoru Gojo’s pupil, he will not leave him because he is responsible forInumaki Toge losing his left arm. During the Itadori’s Extermination arc, Naobita Zen’in was on his deathbed and requested all the clan members to be around him. After his death, Naoya Zen’in was to be the clan’s successor.
But Naobita Zen’in had changed his will and mentioned Megumi Fushiguro to be the next clan leader. Angered at his father’s decision,Naoya Zen’inwent down a revenge path of killing Megumi and Yuji. On the other hand, Yuji Itadori was with Choso and exterminating Cursed Spirits. Naoya arrived and was going to kill Yuji, but suddenly, everyone felt a strong presence. Yuta Okkotsu also entered the scene.
A fight broke out between Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori, and Naoya Zen’in took on Choso. Yuji tried to run away, but Yuta caught him. After struggling for a bit, Rika’s Cursed Spirit got hold of him, and Yuta stabbed his heart. On the other hand, Choso somehow managed to defeat Naoya using his Supernova technique. Yuta took Yuji on his shoulders and reached a wounded Naoya. Yuta promised to heal Naoya with his Reversed Cursed Technique, but in return, he would need to report to the Higher-ups that Yuji Itadori’s execution had been completed.

Yuta Okkotsu will stab Yuji Itadori in the heart and kill him to complete his binding vow. But Yuji Itadori will not die. It was Yuta’s mission to kill Yuji Itadori, and he did so. After killing him, he used the Reversed Cursed Technique to bring him back to life. Then Yuta went back to smiling self. He revealed that Satoru Gojo had paid him a visit in September and devised a plan if he was unable to act. Moreover, inJujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta suffered from something similar, so he understood Yuji’s situation.
Jujutsu Kaisenseason 3 will start with Itadori’s Extermination arc, and then the Culling Games arc will commence. Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, Megumi Fushiguro, and all the other Jujutsu sorcerers will play a significant role in theCulling Games arc. The fans will be relieved to know that Yuji won’t die inJujutsu Kaisenseason 3.
