The only character that fans hope the most to make a comeback after Gojo Satoru is Kugisaki Nobara. The third main character ofJujutsu Kaisen, Nobara, allegedly lost her life during her battle against Mahito in the second season of the series. While she was announced dead in theJujutsu Kaisenanime, the manga did not fully explain what happened to her.

This is one of the main reasons why fans hope that she might return to the series to battle the King of Curses, help his friend Yuji Itadori defeat him, and save their other friend Megumi Fushiguro. However, Gege Akutami’s one trait slims the chances of her return to the series’ final battle featuring Yuji and Sukuna.
Akutami has a habit of making the anime-only scenes canon in theJujutsu Kaisenmanga, which may work in the overall narrative of the story, but it might not be a good thing for Nobara Kugisaki, as she is confirmed to be dead inJujutsu Kaisenanime season 2 but still has a chance of a comeback because of the manga.

Gege Akutami Includes Anime-Only Scenes inJujutsu KaisenManga
While anime adaptations of manga often alter the plot, it is uncommon for these changes to be included and accepted as canon in subsequent chapters of the manga. This is whatGege Akutamiusually does. There have been multiple instances where theJujutsu Kaisenmangaka has taken an anime-only scene or event and made it canon.
Not Itadori or Yuta, Jujutsu Kaisen Voice Actor Believes One DC Superhero Could Easily Destroy the King of Curses
The most recent example of this was seen byJujutsu Kaisenfans in thespoilers of chapter 260, when Yuji throws a rock toward Sukuna and Aoi Todo swaps the rock with Yuji, allowing the protagonist to land a direct hit on the King of Curses. This scene was a reference to a battle scene whereTodo and Yuji showed their synchronizationusing Todo’s innate technique.
This unique trait of making anime-only events canonical is a good way of keeping the balance between the narrative of the manga and the anime, but sometimes it alters the storyline of the manga series and creates confusion for the fans.

Gege Akutami’s Trait Makes Nobara’s Return Unlikely inJujutsu Kaisen
Akutami’s habit of including anime contexts in the manga might prove to be a big flaw for Nobara fans. InJujutsu Kaisenseason 2 episode 19, Nobara Kugisaki is killed by Mahito, which is followed by a trip down her memory lane and Yuji entering a new level of sadness that he has never felt before.
While the manga from there on hardly mentions Nobara or whether she will make a comeback or not, the anime declared her officially dead in the exact moment when she suffered the attack from Mahito. Thus, it can be said that Akutami might have used the anime series’ reference to Nobara’s death and included it in the original narrative.

Therefore, Nobara’s return is highly unlikely, and fans can assume that her death has been made official because the battle against Sukuna is close to its conclusion, and while many characters have made a comeback,Akutami might not bring back Nobarafor such a short time period just to make the story wholesome.
