The people behind the movie will be able to tick that column off on 11th October, 2024, when the movie officially releases for the world. One wonders why is it hitting the theatres so close to the elections. Jeremy Strong has an answer to that.
The Apprenticetook a long time to come together
Ever since it was announced thatThe Apprenticewas finally happening, there were some rumors in the air that whoever touched the project would find himself mired in a legal controversy. No wonder a distributor for the movie would be found after a lot of efforts.
Sharing how everything went down in an interview withExtratv,Jeremy Strongsaid,

“The movie’s been around for years and years and it just happened to finally kind of come together last year and you know. Then the release was essentially delayed because nobody in Hollywood would touch this movie they were all afraid of litigation and repercussions and threats from Trump and uh eventually we were able to get a distributor and so the movie’s coming out.”
Quite the journey it has had. And they are managing to pull off no small feat. Releasing a film about the man who might be the next President of the United States just a month before the elections.

Jeremy Strong gave fans more than a hint that the release date might not be entirely unintentional. He said,
“It’s not entirely unintentional that it’s coming out in the middle of this historic election because I think it’s an essential story to be told about Donald Trump. How he became who he is now, how we got to where we got today.”
