Disney CEO Bob Iger has scheduled several ambitious slates including MCU’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year,Deadpool & Wolverine. While several superhero movies, mostly outside the MCU, have faced a dire phenomenon called superhero fatigue, Iger has planned a remedy for that to keep the Marvel slates safe.
The Disney boss has been spending time with the Marvel filmmakers, watching the movies, keeping notes, and creating room for improvements in a respective way by suggesting his insights. Still, Iger is more conscious about decision-making, he would not hesitate to kill projects they struggle to have faith in.

Disney CEOBob Igerhas a plan for the Disney-owned superhero brand Marvel Studios to rise above and beyond the superhero fatigue. Speaking withThe Hollywood Reporter, Iger revealed that he has made several tough calls and even had to butcher several projects but it was all for the sake of keeping the integrity of the brands aiming to produce more quality projects.
“[I’ve been] spending a lot of time with the creators, watching these films, giving detailed notes in these films, engaging in a respectful process that results in improvement,”Iger said.

The Disney boss does not adhere to the idea of the rise of superhero fatigue from the MCU.“A lot of people think it’s audience fatigue,”he addressed the haunting nightmare for major studios.“It’s not audience fatigue,”he continued.
“They want great films. And if you build it great, they will come and there are countless examples of that. Some are ours and some are others’. Oppenheimer is a perfect example of that. Just a fantastic film. Focus is really important. We reduced the output of Marvel, both number of films they make and the number of TV shows, and that really becomes critical, but I feel good about the team. I feel good about the IP we’re making. I talked about a lot of the projects. We look years ahead, really. And it’s iterative. And again, the track record speaks for itself.”
Also, Marvel Studio has a legacy of producing projects— particularly, movies for the big screen— most of which have been blockbusters. The first 33 films from the studio have generated just under $30 billion at the box office.

Further, Iger has been following his tenure with a more rigid approach to accumulating the best from creative minds.“Not only do you look at the films you’re making,”Iger said persisting on the idea of nullifying error in judgments. For that, he has observed the rigorous process of filmmaking in Disney and MCU.“You look at every part of that process,” he said.
“Who the directors are, who’s being cast, reading scripts, I personally watch films three to five times with the team and just create a culture of excellence and respect, which is really important with the creative community,”he added.
