After two years in Marvel’sWhat If…?, Captain Carter emerged as one of the MCU’s most powerful characters. The Season Two finale revealed her ability to wield the Infinity Stones. This sparked online debate about whether she could also lift Mjölnir—Thor’s trusted hammer.
Carter met her fate inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, killed by Wanda Maximoff. If there will ever be the revival of Atwell’s character, the actress would likely prefer voicing the character over a live-action portrayal.

Captain Carter Star Hayley Atwell Prefers Voice Acting Over Live Action
Hayley Atwell toldHappy Sad Confusedearlier this year that she was heavily satisfied with her role in theWhat If…?animation series. The Marvel actress found it more enjoyable to work on the character’s voice. As she said:
“I felt like I had much more to do in the What If…? animation series. Any actor will tell you to go into a booth in effectively your pajamas and do an animation is great fun. You’re focused on the voices. I love that in that, they’ve been able to give her more to do as Captain Carter. Captain Britain. It felt like a frustrating moment in Strange. She had less to do than what she did before she had the shield.”
Here Atwell explained that she is happy with the opportunity she got to explore Captain Carter’s story further in animation.
Whereas she was left high and dry with a limited role in live-action during the events ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.She feels that the animated format allows more engagement to the character if compared to the live-action portrayal.

After playing Captain Carter inWhat If…?,Hayley Atwellmay joinSecret Warsfollowing the second season of the show. InDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we have seen Atwell’s Captain Carter meet her end.
But, the animated MCU seriesAgent Carterremains alive—well-versed in Multiverse possibilities. This makes the likelihood of her entry into the main timeline reasonable.
