Unlike the live-actionWitcherseries and CD Projekt Red’s video games, the anime movie goes back in time to focus on Vesemir’s origin story. For the unacquainted, Vesemir was the mentor and the father figure for Geralt who trained him to become aWitcher.

Everyone is expecting Vesemir to show up inThe Witcherseason 2. So, it was definitely a good idea to share the character’s origin through an anime film. However, fans also want to know if Geralt of Rivia appears in theNightmare of The Wolfanime film. Well, here’s the answer you are looking for.

If you haven’t watched the movie yet, here’s your fair warning:SPOILERS AHEAD.

Geralt’s Cameo in The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf

The Witcherfans would be delighted to know that Geralt of Rivia appears inNightmare of The Wolf, but only in a few scenes. He doesn’t appear like you are used to seeing him in the live-action series or video games. Instead, Geralt appears as a helpless child being trained to become aWitcherin Kaer Morhen.

At first, we spot Geralt when Tetra attacks Kaer Morhen with her forces to wipe out theWitchersfrom the face of the Earth. WhenWitchersare fighting to stop Tetra, Lady Zerbst can be seen hiding and protecting some children. That’s when we see a bald child staring at her without an inch of fear on his face. Well, this child was, in fact, Geralt of Rivia.

Geralt’s identity is revealed at the end of the movie. Vesemir, the onlyWitcherwho survives Tetra’s attack, gives those children a choice to leave or come with him and become aWitcher. Then, the same bald child asks,“but they (humans) hate us,“to which Vesemir replies,“There’ll always be another monster…Geralt.”

Watching Geralt’s cameo as a child was definitely interesting for fans. Also, this perfectly ties the anime to the second season ofThe Witcherthat’ll bring Vesemir back to the story.
