InZOI just launched in early access on Steam, and it’s already a big hit with players. The new life sim released in early access at midnight UTC this morning, and it’s already climbing up the Steam charts, sitting comfortably in the top 20most-playedgames after it wasthe most-wishlisted game on the platform.

At the time of writing, inZOI’s player count is already getting close to the all-time peak for The Sims 4, with just over 87,000 players and climbing at the time of writing, compared toThe Sims4’s peak of over 96,000.

It also sits at 86% of over 3,000 positive reviews, making it “Very Positive.”

Players have been praising inZOI for things like its DLC model, which will all be free while the game is in early access, its more realistic style compared to The Sims, the removal of Denuvo, and more.

It’s Still Early Access

That said, inZOI is still in early access for the foreseeable future, and it shows in some ways.

Players have noticed some bugs in the game, some more serious (or hilarious, depending on how you look at them) than others.

InZOI Director Weighs In On AI Use & Sims Comparisons - “It’s A Lot Of Pressure”

Director Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim discusses InZOI’s use of AI, and how Sims comparisons affect the team.

They even say in a comment that they could send them into the goal on the soccer field like they were playing Rocket League, but with the ball replaced with schoolchildren; itlooks like torturing charactersis one thing inZOI is carrying over from The Sims.

Needless to say, as an early access release, inZOI is going to need some work, but if the situation with Denuvo is any indication, the devs are more than willing to listen to the players and take their feedback into account, and hopefully these bugs will be fixed quickly.

For now, inZOI is only available on PC, but the devs have stated thatthe game will be released on consoles in the future. Early access is expected to last at least a year, which would place the InZOI release window in mid-2026, although that’s subject to change.
