The former captain of the 5th Division of the Gotei 13 inBleachand one of the coolest villains in the history of the anime and manga industry, Sosuke Aizen, has proved time and time again why he is a fan-favorite. The antagonist’s role inBleachmay be villainous, but his fan following is bigger than the protagonist, Ichigo Kurosaki’s.

Sosuke Aizen

Although Aizen was defeated by Ichigo Kurosaki and imprisoned in the Muken prison, he still managed to keep his presence known inBleach. Not only that, but Aizen also made a return much later, during the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, to help the Soul Society defeat Yhwach.

However, before moving on to fighting Yhwach, Aizen makes a bold claim to Kuchiki Rukia about shooting the Soul King Palace down for her. This claim not only shocked the characters within theBleachseries but also startledBleachfans. But fans know very well that if anyone could bring down something as big and powerful as the Soul King Palace, it is Aizen.

The Immense Power of the Soul King Palace inBleach

The Soul King Palace is the official residence of the Soul King, the supposed ruler of the Soul Society, and its Royal Guard, the protector of the Soul King. It is placed thousands of miles above the Soul Society and is protected by 72 barriers between it and the Seireitei, which in itself explains the importance of the Palace.

The Soul King Palace layout has seven locations with five different cities, the Greater Soul King Palace and the Vestibule Road. The Soul King Palace is the most secure place in the entire universe, and the only character who is able to force himself into the palace is Yhwach. Not only that, he was also able to take control of it.

This allowed him to transform the appearance of the Soul King Palace by bringing the Wandenreich city to the palace and placing the main palace at ground level. However, when Yhwach was finally defeated, the situation ofthe Soul King Palacebecame unknown.

Aizen’s Claim of Shooting Down The Soul King Palace

As mentioned above, the Soul King Palace is the most secure and powerful place in the entireBleachworld. However, in Chapter 622, when the Soul Reapers decide to get help from Aizen to take down Yhwach, he claims that he won’t need the gate to enter the Soul King Palace.

As he is about to use his massive power, Rukia stops him and explains to him that it will scatter all the spiritual pressure that they have collected for the gate and it was then that Aizen claims that they won’t be needing the Spiritual pressure. He also went on to say that if they need the Soul King Palace, he can just shoot it down for them.
