Misha Collins is as synonymous withSupernaturalas Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. The actor’s debut in the show remains one of the most iconic introductions in television history, employing some practical effects to build up the scene.

The actor revealed that while the practical effects gave the scene a little more oomph, Collins had to deal with the consequences of that scene, which had the actor endure a little bit of discomfort.
Misha Collins’ hair had to be misted so that it didn’t catch on fire
Misha Collinsrevealed toTV Linewhat his introductory scene was like, and how his hair had to be misted thanks to sparks flying during the scene. However, that was far from the only thing the actor was worried about. He said:
We had squibs on my chest, and they were exploding, and I was supposed to not be fazed at all. It’s like a gunshot. It’s very jarring. So I was trying to not respond to gunshots going off on my body, and it was really hard.

While the shots stung the actor, there was also the fact that the team behind the scenes was trying to ensure Collins’ hair did not catch on fire. The actor revealed the precautions the crew took during the scene, but that did not make it any less uncomfortable.
So they misted my hair so it wouldn’t catch fire, but I remember the hot sparks landing on my scalp and hearing the sizzling sound, and it hurting and trying not to react to that as well.

While the actor had to do at least two takes for the scene, it remains one of the best introductory scenes in all of television, which was able to wow fans and audiences alike.
Misha Collins thought his intro was pretty badass
Misha Collins might have had to endure sparks and squibs for his introductory scene, and it might have been more than a little uncomfortable for the character, but after viewing the final product, the actor was very pleased with his entrance into the show. He said:
I was like, ‘Oh, that’s kind of badass,’. It was a great character introduction, and at the time, I don’t think I really processed that it was a cool character introduction.

Castiel would go on to become a staple of the show, becoming one of the fan-favorite characters. Castiel also remains one of the best-received characters in the show, with Misha Collins delivering some of its best moments not only as an actor but also as a director.
