Gambit probably didn’t know that Rogue chose him over Magneto

The episode opened with Magneto, Rogue, and Gambit making it to Genosha, as the country prepared to celebrate its admission into the United Nations. As Magneto was asked to be the ruler of the nation, he offered Rogue to be his queen.

As everyone prepared for the Gala, Rogue revealed to Remy that she was actively considering the offer, and had some inclinations towards accepting it. This led to Remy breaking up with Rogue, and going to the Gala alone. At the Gala, Magneto and Rogue performed a very intimate dance, something that Remy took as further confirmation that  Rogue had made a choice. However, Rogue told Magneto that some things are deeper than skin, indicating that her choice was Remy.
