The Boysis known for its subversive and satirical take on the superhero genre, which has earned it critical acclaim. In an interview, actress Erin Moriarty discussed one of the show’s most famous and popular episodes – the sixth episode of season 3, titledHerogasm. The episode is adapted from a comic book issue of the same name and caused a stir for its sexually explicit content when it was released.

Erin Moriarty, who plays Annie January / Starlight in the series, spoke about the process of filming the provocative yet hilarious episode that shines a light on the private life of the superheroes. During her conversation with Forbes, Moriarty spoke about the challenges of filming the episode and revealed a hilarious yet rude awakening she witnessed on the set ofHerogasm. Herogasmis one of the most intriguing episodes ofThe Boysas it takes a satirical look at the sexual debauchery of the superheroes that have a celebrity status in this world. The episode, which primarily takes place at a mansion, seesErin Moriarty’sStarlight explore a previously unseen side of the superhero life.

Moriarty discussed filming the episode in an interview withForbes, where he shared a hilarious anecdote aboutHerogasm. Moriarty revealed she had never spent so much time around naked bodies. Moreover, the house was stacked with sexual toys, most of which ended up surprising the actress.

Moriarty ended up touching some of the “props” on the set. However, she was in for a rude awakening when she tried to clean her hands.

“There’s a sex swing. And I’m like, ‘You know what? I feel like I need to clean my hands.’ And I go to squirt hand sanitizer, and the whole crew is like ‘no, no, no, no!’ It was lube because there were just bottles of lube all around.”

Moriarty stated that the sexually charged atmosphere of the set was a lot for her. However, the incident with the lube served as a funny awakening about the surroundings she was in. While Moriarty was mostly surprised by the things she witnessed on the set ofHerogasm, she found the experience hilarious.

During the same interview, Moriarty discussed filming the episode with very heavy sexual themes and explicit content. Moriarty described the experience as wild and hilarious. However, she also felt that some of it was excessive.

Most of all, Moriarty found the experience educational and she explained her feelings in the following words:

“It was hilarious, wild, ultimately excessive, and you know, educational, it was definitely educational. There are a lot of things that I’m glad I saw.”

Moriarty stated that while filming the episode, she saw some things that could not be erased from her memory, which made the experience all the more hilarious. Moriarty also enjoyed teaming up with Laz Alonso’s Mother’s Milk for the duration of the episode.
