J. K. Simmons has been a mainstay of superhero films, thanks to his portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson. However, he has now been playing another iconic character in the superhero landscape, in the form of Omni-Man inInvincible.

Simmons revealed the fact that there is redemption in the cards for the character is something that makes it easier to play the character. Season One ofInvinciblesaw the character go up against his own son, leaving him bloody and wounded, while also making it clear that he wouldn’t mind killing him to take over the world. Season 2, however, saw him turn over a new leaf, even missing his wife and son.
There is hope for Nowl-Ahn to be redeemed, and what Season 3 is probably building towards
While Omni-Man has done his fair share of horrible things, there is a very potent redemption arc being set up for the character. Towards the end of Season 2, audiences already saw Nolan missing his wife, and feeling remorse for the lives that he has taken.J. K. Simmonshas talked about how glad he is that that is the case. He said viaThe Direct,
I love that that’s a question… it would have been pretty tedious to play through seasons of him just being the biggest, baddest guy on the block. And I think being able to explore some vulnerability and some self-doubt even is really an interesting journey.

The character will be getting a lot of screen time this season, one could assume, given the storyline that unfolds in the story. This season will also probably see Conquest make his way to Earth, to conquer it, only to meet the entire might of the planet’s heroes, Invincible included. There is also the fact that Angstrom Levy is set to make Mark’s life infinitely difficult, which will drive the conflict of the show.
Invincible could end up featuring a slew of characters from the Image Comics universe
Angstrom Levy, in the comics, serves as a catalyst for the Invincible War, where a slew of alternate versions of Mark ends up invading the main timeline. While it is unlikely, other Image properties, that made an appearance in the comics, might make their debut in the show too, such as Witchblade, Savage Dragon, Dynamo 5, and even Spawn.
Invincible Season 3 Review — Maturing in Bloody Emotional Turmoil
These characters make an appearance in the comics, sharing the same universe. However, the show might just make expos of these characters and have them appear when the fight with Invincible takes place.
The show has changed cameos before, such as turning Spider-Man into a copyright-friendly Agent Spider, and there is no reason to believe that a similar treatment will not be given to the characters from other comic series who end up in the show.

InvincibleSeason 3 is streaming on Prime Video.
