The city of Los Angeles, one of the most prominent ones in the country, has been in turmoil for over a week now due to the wildfires rummaging through five different regions. While efforts to contain them are underway, so far several thousand properties have been razed to ashes, and others are at risk of, including celebrity homes.
While fortunately, actress Jennifer Garner’s house has remained safe from the destruction, she has been feeling pretty guilty over losing something way more precious: a friend.

The LA fires are one of the biggest and most destructive that the country has ever seen. So far over 10 people have lost their lives and authorities expect the death toll to rise. In Los Angeles County over 153,000 people are under evacuation orders and another 166,000 are under evacuation warnings.

WhileJennifer Garnerhas been living in the Palisades neighborhood for years, where the deadliest of fires is still raging on, her house is fortunately safe.
However, the actress lost a church friend, as she revealed toMSNBC.
I did lose a friend, and for our church, it’s really tender so I don’t feel like we should talk about it yet. I did lose a friend. She didn’t get out in time.
Stated the actress with her voice cracking. Feeling guilty of still having her home while hundreds of her friends have lost theirs, the actress has been working as a volunteer with World Central Kitchen to help out as much as she can amid this heartbreaking tragedy.

So when the LA fires struck and destroyed the homes of thousands of people across the county, including her friends, Garner took to volunteering at the World Central Kitchen.

Friends with WCK’s Chef José Andrés, Garner stated to MSNBC that her guilt over having her home and being fortunate enough to be safe had her work twice as hard to help those who were not as lucky.
I feel almost guilty walking through my house. You know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?
Known for her work with Save The Children USA, the actress already knew about World Central Kitchen, hence took to work as soon as she could. Appealing to everyone to be somehow helpful, Garner looked heartbroken and grim while talking about the tragedy.
