Seth Rogen has become superhero producer extraordinaire, delivering brilliant shows likeInvincible, The BoysandTMNT: Mutant Mayhem. As a producer, Rogen would be an asset to all his frequent collaborators given the landscape of superhero fiction in Hollywood.

James Franco

However, there seems to be one actor who will miss out on this piece of pie, despite already being part of an acclaimed superhero universe, Sam Raimi’sSpider-Man trilogy. Rogen has explicitly said that he has no plans of working with this actor, in light of some legal troubles.

James Franco will not be working with Seth Rogen anytime soon

While Rogen and Franco have shared an immense amount of success in the past, delivering hits likeThe Interview, Pineapple ExpressandSausage Party, it seems that their partnership might be at an end, thanks to the uncertainty of their relationship in light of certain allegations against the latter. Rogen said:

“I do not plan to [work with Franco] right now. What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment, and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that.”

Franco, back in 2019, was the subject of 2 lawsuits from students of his now-shut film and acting school, Studio 4, citing sexual exploitation. Seth Rogen cannot define his relationship with James Franco post the lawsuit

Rogen has made it clear without a shadow of a doubt that he will not be working with Franco for the foreseeable future, a promise that he has kept, since his comments in 2021. However, the actor/producer has also said that the allegations have changed the nature of his relationship with the actor, saying “I don’t know if I can define that right now”.

Rogen has come a long way since his days in comedy, producing not one, but two of Amazon Studios’ greatest hits,The Boys and Invincible. The producer-actor-director has found himself with quite the résumé, while Franco, his one-time frequent collaborator, has seemingly fallen off the map. The actor has found himself in a whirlwind of suits, which might keep him from creative endeavors for a while. Given that Franco has confessed to some pretty dubious actions, it is safe to say that Rogen will not be participating in any production that involves Franco.
