Beasts are the lovable, cute (and sometimes scary) animalsyou can catch and nurture inHogwarts Legacy. Whether you’re looking to catch a tiny Puffskein, or a large, intimidating Graphorn, you’ll want to take home all the different types you can find.

Similar to Pokemon, Hogwarts Legacy has introduced the ability to catch rare, shiny beasts. There are a few strategies you may use to grab these rarities more easily, so you can bring them to your personal Vivarium.
What Are Shiny Beasts?
In the game, you’ll come across beasts often in the wild that you are able to catch once you receive the Nab Sack. Most available beastsare located in dens, including:
You can find these dens all around the map to locate your preferred beast. Some of these beasts have different colors and types.Puffskein, for example, come in a few different colors including pink, brown, gray, and more.Along with this, there is also ashiny variation that you can catch, which appears white.
Shiny beasts don’t seem to have any special abilities from their normal counterparts, except that they arerarer and will have a label next to their name to indicate their shiny status, shown above.
Though they don’t have much difference, collecting these rare beasts will help you togarner achievements and complete your collection.With this in mind, here’s how you’re able to find and catch them.

How To Catch Shiny Beasts
For a beginner’s example, we are going to attempt to catch aShiny Niffler. These are one of the easiest beasts to catch and are relatively easy to find. They have a few dens scattered across the map, but we will be visiting the onenear theFeldcroft Catacomb Floo Flame, in the Feldcroft Region south of Hogwarts.
Catching Shiny beasts will not have the same process as in a game like Pokemon. There isn’t much you may do to make it easier to find a shiny beast, but instead you’ll just have to wait it out and hope for the best. However,we have a few tips to help you along the way.
Discovering a Shiny beast isn’t as rare as you might think, as we were able to catch aShiny Niffler and a Shiny Puffskein in less than 10 minutes.It might be a bit harder as you go for beasts such as Hippogriffs, however. Just keep refreshing the area, and you’ll eventually come into contact with one.
