Hogwarts Legacyis an immersive, stunning, and captivating journey into the Wizarding World. Though there’s a compelling narrative to follow, the game is also filled to the brim withside quests, many of which take place inside Hogwarts Castle itself. One of these early quests is called The Cache in the Castle, which also acts as the introduction to the character Arthur Plummly, who gives the player the quest.

Though some of the clues may look familiar, navigating the winding corridors, endless stairways, and breathtaking scenery of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is complicated, to say the least. So for those not looking to get hopelessly lost wandering the castle searching fortreasure chests, here is a quick walkthrough on how to nab some hidden Hogwarts treasure.
1st Clue: Rhino Skeleton
The first clue is a rhino skeleton that has been put on a museum-like display, and it should look familiar to players and as the quest itself suggests, they might have run past it several times already. Find the skeleton bytaking the stairs down and to the rightof where Arthur is standing. Headdown the stairs exactly 3 floorsandexit the stairway.
Thenturn leftand, by peeking over the railing, one can see the skeleton on the floor below in the distance.Take the central stairs downand approach the rhino skeleton to trigger the next clue.
Playersdon’t need to do anythingto get to the 2nd clue, they just need to get close enough to the skeleton and the quest will change appropriately.
2nd Clue: Dragon Statue Fountain
It may not be recognizable in the drawing, but the 2nd clue is in the same courtyard where Professor Ronen taught players how to use the Reparo spell. The fountain with the dragon statue can be found in theAstronomy Wing of Hogwartsvia theTransfiguration Courtyard.
If players have unlocked Floo Flames already, they canfast-travel from the floor above the rhino skeleton. Otherwise, simplymark a waypoint on the courtyardthrough the in-game map. As before, simply being close enough to the fountain with the dragon statue will trigger the next clue.

3rd Clue: Painting
The next clue is a painting that players will cast the Accio spell on and is the final piece of the puzzle. From the dragon fountain,head northwest, past the big tree, andthroughsomeornate double doors. Head inside and take thestairs to the rightand the painting is afew floors up.
Inside the painting is asnowy cabin with some treesin it, next to asuit of armor on a stand. Approach the painting and at the top of the frame, a small piece will shimmer.Cast Accio at the topof the paintingto reveal a doorway that opens up. Open the chest and the treasure is achieved.
Finishing The Quest
Inside the chest is theAuthentic Historian’s Uniform, which at first may not seem like much of a treasure. However, this is an extremely desirable cosmetic item that is used to customize player appearances and will most likely be used widely throughout a play-through.
After getting the treasure, players shouldhead back to Arthurto finish the quest. He is no longer in the same spot, soset up another waypointfor the quest to makes finding him easier. It turns out he’s found his own treasure in the process and is delighted to hear about your success.
