Henry Cavill may be out from James Gunn’s DCU, but hisThe Witcherco-star Anya Chalotra is the latest actress to join a DCU project. Chalotra will play Circe in the Max animated seriesCreature Commandos. While there were rumors about her role in the series, Gunn has now officially confirmed that she is part of the voice cast of the animated series.

While Gunn is busy working on DCU’s first filmSuperman: Legacy, the TV side of DC Studios is set to begin withCreature Commandos. The series will be the first project to be released in the DCU continuity and is considered an“aperitif”before theSupermanfilm in 2025.

The X page, @bestofanyac, shared a screenshot of Chalotra’s alleged CV page as the source for these reports.

Now,James Gunnhas confirmed on Threads that theWanderlustactress is indeed voicing a role in the animated series. When asked about her role in the series, Gunn shared that all series regulars, including Chalotra, were announced for the project. Interestingly, the cast announcements made in April 2023 didn’t feature Chalotra’s name. TheGuardians of the Galaxydirector wrote on Threads:

Chalotra will be playing the villain role of Circe in the seven-episode series. In the DC Comics, Circe is best known as the iconic villain to Diana Prince / Wonder Woman. The character is a wicked sorceress and has made a few appearances in DC animated projects over the years.
Creature Commandosis not Anya Chalotra’s only upcoming voice project. She is set to voice the role of Lucilia inZack Snyder’s animated series,Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. Chalotra is also rumored to play Gazelle in another animated series based on theNEW-GENsuperhero comic book.
