It has only been 24 hours sinceHelldivers 2announced a new major order that tasks players with taking on the Terminid super colony on the planet Meridian. However, this battle doesn’t seem to be going the way the developers may want it to.

Helldivers 2 introduces blowing up a planet, but it may not happen.

At the time of writing, there is no definitive way for players to know how much progress they are actually making within the major order, as the task bar on the planet Meridian seems to either be bugged or inactive, leaving many players to wonder as to why we aren’t making progress.

Failure May Be Imminent for Helldivers 2, but This Time It Won’t Be the Fault of the Players

Even thoughHelldivers 2has been a massively well-received game overall, there have been moments of doubt within the gaming community as there are plenty of bugs (no, not the Terminids) that cause players to want to quit the game or fail their current missions.

One bug that has been active throughout the recent major order is the fact that during the new mission, players have to summon down a drill and implantDark Fluids into the planet to eventually cause the planet to implode. There are too many bugs spawning to stop it.

Understandably, bugs spawning to stop us from blowing up their super colony makes sense, but when it comes to gameplay, having a bug breach active directly under the very brittle drill that we need to protect, which tends to spawn Bile Titans, especially at harder levels, tends to become nearly impossible to complete as a mission.

This isn’t the only bug within the mission, either, as for those who are lucky enough to even complete these rather simple mission objectives, you will then have to face a never-ending swarm of shriekers, the flying Terminids, until your extraction arrives. If your extraction even works, that is also bugged.

Bugs infest Helldivers 2 as players struggle to beat the swarms of Terminids.

Arrowhead Game Studios has a lot to sort out if it wants us to implode a planet

The longer this major order is active, the closer we are to failure, as Helldivers only had 4 days to complete this objective, and with seemingly no progress being made from what we can see with the progress bar, we have no idea whether we are failing or succeeding.

This isn’t the first time that a progress bar has been glitched onHelldivers 2, so there is the chance that we could be right around the corner from completing this major order and imploding Meridian, but as of right now, no announcements have been made by the development team detailing a glitch in the progress bar.

For many reasons, this major order looks to be a turning point withinHelldivers 2,as the introduction of a black hole is a possibility, according to recent videos from the ministry of truth. This could also be the start of a new threat entering our galaxy, also known as the Illuminate, but unless the developers and Joel have some form of backup plan in case we fail, we might not see the fireworks show this time.
