But you’ll want to celebrate a bit too, especially after dropping a 500kg Bomb on an enemy base and wiping it from existence. That’s whereEmotescome in handy. While you won’t want to be starting a complicated handshake with a squadmate in the middle of a firefight, there’snothing wrong with celebratingafter the fact. The game doesn’t exactly make it clear how to do this, however. If you’ve seen your allies saluting an ICBM explosion in the distance, and you’re feeling left out, this guide’s got you covered.

How To Select Emotes
You’ll be able to select your Emotes between missions when you’re back on your ship (or one of your allies' ships). Head over to your armory, that small hallway separating the Ship Upgrades bay (where you return from missions) and the bridge, where you’ll find the War Table.
The Armory is where you usually set your weapons and armor for the next mission, but if you tab over to the Character tab (3rd option), this page features a number of character customization options that don’t have any mechanical benefit.
Select the Emote icon here (located just between Voice Pack and Victory Pose), and here, you’ll be able to view and select all of the Emotes you have unlocked.
You’ll begin with the default (and iconic) Casual Salute Emote.
The Casual Salute Emote is great for admiring an ICBM exploding in the distance.
Once you select your preferred Emote, you’re ready to use it!
How To Use Emotes
To use your Emote either on the bridge of your Destroyer or down on a planet on top of a pile of Terminid viscera, it’s really simple.
On PS5, make sure you’re holding down left on the D-Pad — just pressing it will swap your weapon.
How To Get More Emotes
Emotes are currently earned exclusively through the free Warbonds (read: Battle Pass) for Helldivers 2. These Warbonds do not expire, so there’s no huge rush in unlocking them all, but if you’re eager to express yourself in style on and off the battlefield, you’re able to prioritize picking up these colorful additions to your Character.
Like everything else in the Warbonds, Emotes are purchased with Medals, one of the severaltypes of currencyin the game.
At the time of writing, the game contains a total of 5 emotes, 4 of which are unlocked in theHelldivers Mobilize Warbond(with the 5th being the default Casual Salute Emote).

While there are no Emotes within the Steeled Veterans Premium Warbond, more Emotes are likely to be included in future Premium Warbonds.
