While we haven’t heard anything new regarding the Halo franchise in a while, following the release of Halo Infinite in 2021, a new rumor suggests that this could change soon.
The new rumor concerns a remake of the original Halo, a concept that has been discussed before, although Microsoft hasn’t yet announced anything.

This new rumor comes hot on the heels of Microsoft said to be “trying their damnest"to replace the Halo Studios devs with AI.
Halo Remake On The Way But There Won’t Be Multiplayer It’s Claimed
The news comes from content creatorRebs Gaming, who has leaked previous Halo stuff before. The content creator made avideowhere it mentioned that, according to his sources, they had not heard anything about the multiplayer being done for the Combat Evolved remake.
Additionally, he stated that his source(s) hadn’t heard anything about Halo Infinite being ported to the PS5, which is arumorthat has surfaced before.

If the rumored Halo CE remake won’t feature multiplayer, it really won’t be that surprising since the Anniversary release of CE didn’t have the multiplayer as well, and 343 instead opted to give players access to Halo Reach’s multiplayer on some remade maps.
Rebs Gaming added that the rumor that Halo Infinite is being ported to Unreal Engine 5 is false, as based on their sources, they have not heard of plans to port the latest Halo game to Epic’s engine. It’s said that Halo Studios doesn’t think “it’s possible or worth it to port Infinite’s multiplayer” to Unreal Engine, when the developers can be putting their focus on other projects.

From Escharum to 343 Guilty Spark, how do the 15 strongest Halo bosses across the entire series line up?
To frame things in a much easier way, there is a Halo Combat Evolved remake being developed but it’s the campaign only, there’s also a new multiplayer experience being developed by Halo Studios called “Project Eker.” And there’s also an indirect sequel to Halo Infinite’s campaign with Halo 7.

As with every unconfirmed information, please treat it with a grain of salt for now.
Halo Studioshas already said thatwe’ll find out about the future of the franchise this October at the Halo World Championships in Seattle. Will this be the reveal of the Halo CE remake? Perhaps an all-new Halo game? Whatever it is, it should be welcome news for Halo fans who have been looking forward to anything new in the series for quite some time now.
