DeveloperArc System Workshas announced during its specialshowcase with IGNthat Sin Kiske will be the next playable character joining Guilty Gear Strive as part of the game’s second season on November 24. A short gameplay trailer of Sin Kiske shows off his close combat capabilities and war flag weapon against other heroes.

Following Bridget’s addition to the roster earlier this year, the fan-favorite Sin Kiske has been announced to be the second DLC character arriving in the game later this week. In case you missed out, Arc System Works also shared a roadmap for Guilty Gear Strive, giving a breakdown of what players should expect from the fighting game for the months ahead. According to the roadmap, aside from Sin Kiske, two more characters from the series will be added to the roster sometime in 2023. You can see the son of Kye Kiske taking up his war flag in combat via the trailer below.

For those unfamiliar with Sin’s moveset from Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, the returning character specializes in close combat to create rapid combos with his powerful flag. Players should not expect notable changes in his combat style, as his abilities from previous games will remain intact. However, there will be new touches on his gameplay, such as a renewed eating mechanism. Sin’s moves are dependent on his energy bar, which can be replenished by eating. It appears as though the new eating mechanic shown off in the trailer makes it easier to apply follow-up attacks, reducing the dependency on the energy bar.

A hunger gauge will no longer be on display, as Sin has now a stamina meter that players can stock by performing attacks. The quarter-gear knight can perform multi-input moves and overdrives to dole out a certain amount of damage. In the Xrd series, Sin has a calorie limit that prevents him from performing special moves when the gauge is used up. Instead of refilling this gauge, players will eat food to give themselves various power-ups, which will be detailed by Arc System Works soon.

“He’s optimistic and doesn’t think too deeply about things. He could be called clueless at worst, and innocent at best. His simplistic thinking, however, can lead to a breakthrough in handling situations at times.” theofficial announcement reads.

The next addition to the roster of playable characters, Sin Kiske, will appear in Guilty Gear Strive on November 24. The game is now available on PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam.
