Faye Before Kratos
Before Kratos arrived in the realm,Faye was a Giant living in Jotunheim. Here, she despised the ruling Aesir gods and fought against them with the rest of the giants. Through her rebellion against the gods, she traveled to other realms and became relatively well known for her actions against the Aesir and Odin. Faye was also the one who cut off the connection between Jotunheim and the other realms, trying to prevent Thor from killing the other Giants.

The Leviathan Axe was made to be a counter for Thor’s hammer, Milonjir, and was made by the dwarves brothers specifically for Faye. Through her rebellion, she was arming herself to stand against the god and did so in Vanaheim, leaving the frozen lightning bolt behind. Faye was also looking towards the future andseeing Kratos wielding it against the Aesir.
During The Events Of Both Games
In the final area of Jotunheim in God Of War 2018, Kratos and Atreus see thatFaye foresaw the upcoming eventsand set them out on this journey for a reason. Through the murals, she had written everything that was to come, including the events of Ragnarok, with the intention of Kratos and Atreus seeing them when they did,Faye wrote Atreus’s actual name, Loki, on that mural so that he could learn of his originsand use that to carry on his mother’s goals of saving the giants and stopping the Aesir.
Through Kratos' dreams of the past in Ragnarok, it is shown that Faye, in some ways, was preparing her husband for the future where he would stop the Aesir. In one of these dreams, it was also mentioned that Faye and Kratos fought upon meeting the first time, proving her power as she could hold her own against him. She knew that his cutting down the tree in the 2018 game would destroy the stave and begin the confrontation between Kratos and the Aesir. Faye loved her family and went against her people for what was right for her family, but she still foresaw them carrying on her legacy and gave them thetools to stop the Aesirwhen the time finally came.
