Sony has released a newpromotional videoforGod of War: Ragnarokfeaturing comedy legend Ben Stiller. Dressed as the God of War himself, Stiller appears complete with the classic red and white face paint Kratos is known for.

LeBron James and John Travolta also join in on the fun, sitting in on what looks to be a therapy session for fathers looking to be more like Kratos in their parenting. Travolta’s daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, James’s son Bronny James, and Stiller’s son Quinlin Dempsey Stiller also star in the video, lamenting the fact that their fathers are obsessed with the former Spartan.

Set in a cozy room filled with stuffed bears and wolves, Ben Stiller opens up the video by telling his fellow fathers about the similarities between Kratos’s relationship with Atreus and his own relationship with Quinlin, “The God of War dynamic plays out in every parent-child relationship. When that clicked for me, I picked up my Leviathan Axe, and felt truly close to my son for the very first time.”

“Leviathan… Axe” Travolta jots down in his notebook. His daughter, Ella Bleu, is not impressed, telling her dad he’s being “thirsty” for the God of War and that he needs to calm down. As any good parent should, Travolta reassures his daughter, telling her he’s fine and that he has been drinking plenty of water.

Bronny shakes his head no, commenting on the basketball practice he had to miss to show up to this ‘meeting’. LeBron shakes his head as Stiller states that “Nobody can hurt you like your kids.”

From Kratos killing Zeus to Atreus shooting Kratos in the chest with an arrow, sons fighting their fathers is a common theme in theGod of Warseries. Ben Stiller’s line, “Nobody can hurt you like your kids” may have fans questioning Kratos' fate in the latest installment of the series. Fans may remember Kratos' speech at the end of God of War (2018), where the titular character explained to Atreus that they can become the gods they choose to be.

A similar sentiment can be found in another trailer for God of War: Ragnarok where Tyrappears to giveKratos similar advice, stating, “Fate only binds you if you let it.”

God of War: Ragnarok releases on November 9th, 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5.
