Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashedis a wild ride for you and your co-op friends. As an asymmetrical multiplayer game, you and three other busters will face off against a ghost haunting a location. This is assuming you aren’t playing the ghost yourself. When the Ghostbusters arrive on the scene of a job, the main objective is always to stop the haunting.

However, there are also some collectibles to be found in each of the game’s levels. These collectibles come in the forms of Clippings and Fungi. Fungi are strewn about kind of everywhere. While they’re not so difficult to find, discovering all the Fungi on a given level can be quite the challenge. Furthermore, the tutorial for the game doesn’t touch on any of the collectible items, leaving the players to explore and figure things out for themselves. This guide should help clear up any confusion surrounding Fungi.
How To Find Fungi
If you want to find and collect all kinds of Fungi, you’ll need to be playing as a Ghostbuster. Ghosts have a lot on their plate anyway, so they don’t really need any side activities to distract them from haunting every inch of a location. You’ll also have to finish the match if you want your newly collected Fungi to give you XP or count toward your final collection. Such restrictions stop players and achievement hunters from dropping into a match, grabbing all the collectibles, and dropping as soon as possible.
Fungi appear to be placed around the map randomly, so there’s no definitive list of locations where they can be found. They also vary in size and visibility, making it quite easy to miss some smaller, darker Fungi lurking around the map. However, a lot of Fungi are quite easy to spot. Some can be quite large, and all of them give off a healthy glow. While their glow isn’t as bright or impressive as a Clipping’s glow, it should be enough for you to find any Fungi if you’re paying attention. Their glow can also vary in color, so pay attention to any suspicious lights.
If you become a dedicated Fungi collector, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with XP and achievements. While the XP gained is a bit meager from match to match, it adds up over time. There’s also a major boost in XP for every 25% collected out of the final Fungi collection. At 100%, you will also unlock a unique cosmetic for your buster.

Where To View Your Fungi
You can go upstairs to the firehouse to look at your Fungi collection. There, you’ll be able to track your progress on your quest to collect all the different kinds of Fungi. While this doesn’t come with the lore implications or flavor that the Clippings provide, it’s still a fun collectible to hunt down and show off in the firehouse.
