Maguu Kenki, the new boss and first boss from Inazmua, was now added toGenshin Impactin the new map of theMidsummer Island Adventureevent - here’s some tips to defeat the samurai inspired boss.
Maguu Kenki most notably drops Marionette Core, a new item and one of the Ascension Material needed for two Inazuma characters,Kazuha and Sayu.

First, note that you’ll have to progress and complete phase 3 of theMidsummer Island Adventureevent to unlock the Maguu Kenki boss fight. Note that you will fight Maguu Kenki for the first time at the end of Phase 3 as part of the story. This version of the boss will be easier to defeat.
Maguu Kenki is a special boss who nullifies ranged attacks. Meaning you’ll need to always stay close to it during the battle. And the easiest way to beat it is to use characterswho can put up shields with their Elemental Skill / E. You pretty much don’t need a guide or any advice if you have a well raised John Lee, as the CEO of Geo’s Jade Shield makes the fight absolutely trivial. Else, you should be using Noelle.

Remember how I said the first story boss fight against Maguu Kenki is easier? You should use that opportunity to try and fulfill the achievements then. Most notably the one where you need to defeat him without triggering the mask parry, which he does if you use a ranged attack. Avoiding his Phantom’s attacks is also easy with a shield character.
Lastly, note that you’ll need to beat Maguu Kenki at least three times to get all the achievements. Redeeming rewards from Maguu Kenki costs 40 Original Resin, just like any other world boss.
What do you think of the Maguu Kenki boss fight? Personally speaking, I’d say it’s pretty interesting, but at the same time it definitely lacks challenge with how easy it is with shield characters. You can do some cool looking fights by only using sword characters though. And I’m sure there will be some pretty impressive fan-made videos with Inazuma characters like Ayaka when they’re released.
Note that Maguu Kenki will be fightable somewhere in Inazuma after theMidsummer Island Adventuremap is no longer accessible. So don’t worry if you don’t have the time to farm during 1.6.
Genshin Impactwill add Inazuma with its next Version on June 27, 2025, currently nicknamed both 1.7 and 2.0 by fans, as developermiHoYodid not officially reveal the update’s numbering yet.
