In one of the biggest deals in the gaming industry, Disney and Epic Games have closed a deal that will bring all kinds of franchises toFortnite, whether they be Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars,Avatar, and more in a whole new universe.
This deal is one for the history books, as Disney has acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games and will be working with Epic Games to create a whole new experience withinFortnite, which will have gamers playing, watching, creating, and shopping.
Disney and Epic Games Come Together to Bring a Whole New Universe to Fortnite
As of February 7th, Disney and Epic Games will be moving forward with a new collaboration that will bring new character skins, new franchises, and a whole new mode toFortnite, in one of the largest collaborations to date.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Could be in Big Trouble if it Doesn’t Change its Ways
At the moment, we do not know how this new collaboration will take form, as thereveal traileronly had a few scenes within it. The main scene that has caught everyone’s attention is the large map that has been teased during the trailer.
The best way to describe this new location would be a virtual Disney world, as there is a land for Pixar, a Disney castle, a land forStar Wars, a Marvel building, and so much more. If this map is accurate, there will be plenty for characters to explore and discover as they venture through all these lands, and as the trailer puts it, “Play, Watch, Create, and Shop.“.
The collaborations will apparently also include new games connected to bothFortniteand Disney in some way, shape, or form, but how that’ll come to be, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Players Will Be Experiencing This New Location for Years as More Content Will Surely Follow
Even though we do not know what this new location will look like, we can assume that it will take the form of a large open-world map, similar to what we have experienced inLEGO Fortnite. There will also be potential for mini-games likeFortnite FestivalandRocket Racing.
Fortnite’s Latest Skin is Dividing Fans to New Extremes
If this is true, then there will be plenty of content for players to enjoy, especially with the numerous different franchises and characters that will be coming to the game. Since Disney is such a large corporation with numerous different franchises under its belt, there are no limits to how much content it could receive in the future, but thanks to the reveal trailer, we know characters like Elsa fromFrozenwill be involved.
This isn’t the first collaboration that Disney has held withinFortnite, as there was also an event in which Galactus invaded the world, bringing in 15.3 million concurrent players. If this new universe is as large as the teaser video suggests, then we can assume that many more players will log in and see what’s new inFortnite.
At the moment, we do not know an exact date for this collaboration to release, but for now, it has been teased that it will be coming soon(ish).
