What Are The Whisperers And Their Goal

The Whisperers intervene subtly and, at other times, more directly. The Whisperers are shown to be very powerful, able to bring Barret back to life despitebeing stabbed by Sephiroth. Before the next bombing mission, Avalanche was about to proceed with the mission without Cloud, unlike the original game. The Whisperers then interfered and hurt Jessie to make sure Cloud was hired and present during the bombing mission to continue the story as planned. The Whisperers are very powerful and sometimes only attempt to guide characters to make the right decision until the end of the game when the party and Sephiroth attempt to deny destiny completely.
The End Of The Game And What It Means
One of the game’s final bosses is the main Whisperer, and after defeating it, the rest of the Whisperers are also defeated. Without the Whisperers, the party can make decisions that do not follow the original game, and the story is now open to go in any direction the writers want. The events of the Remake are, for the most part, very similar to the original game, with the Whisperers constantly working to make this so, but now the other two games in the trilogy don’t have the same restrictions.
The Whisperers served as a narrative toolfor both the characters in the game and for the writers to fans. The final line of the game states,“the unknown journey will continue,“implying that now the story will begin to deviate from the original game. This is made most apparent by the final cutscene showingZack, alive with his buster swordcarrying Cloud toward Midgar.
