Final Fantasy 16is full of equipment options. Whether you’re looking forAccessories, Vambraces, Belts or any type of weapon, you will have a ton of options to pick from. For the most part, the best equipment options are crafted via the forge at Blackthorne’s shop.

You can craft quite a few weapons at Blackthorne’s, in fact, some of the best weapons come fromusing the crafting system. You can also find some great weapons in different chests or as rewards for quests. Here is a list of the best weapons you can obtain in the game, when you obtain them, and what you need to craft them.

20Gaia Blade
The Gaia Blade is a sword that can be crafted at the Black Hammer after completing the quest “The Wages of Guilt.” You can also purchase the weapon from Charon’s Toll after this point in the game. It will cost you 1,500 Gil.
The weapon’s description reads “While common on the southern continent, worship of the land itself as a deity is almost unheard of in Valisthea. That, however, has not stopped the import of fine steel blades blessed by Gaian presbyters, under the claim that they are deadlier and more durable than those forged in the Twins.” This sword is so great due to the fact that it has a decent Stagger and Attack, both of which are at 140. If you reinforce the weapon to level 4, it has both at 400.

19Invictus
The Invictus is another great weapon for Clive. Thankfully, this one is super easy to obtain. The weapon belonged to Clive’s father and was then given to Lord Rodney Murdoch when he was promoted to the rank of Lord Commander. After Phoenix Gate, it is given to Clive by Lady Hanna during the quest “Holding On.” In this quest, he obtains his father’s old outfit.
The weapon’s description reads “One of a set of seven swords said to have been forged in the flames of Mt. Drustanus, Invictus has been passed down through generations for use by the Archduke’s family and his closest Shields. Archduke Elwin presented Invictus to Rodney Murdoch on the day he was promoted to Lord Commander of the Ducal Army.” It ranks of this list due to the fact that it has an Attack and Stagger of 165. Unfortunately, it cannot be enhanced, lowering its position on the list.
18Flametongue
Flametongue is an Eikon Sword that is crafted from the material that the Eikon of Fire, Ifrit drops. to obtain this, you must defeat the Infernal Eikon (a shadow version of Ifrit) during your second visit to Phoenix Gate.
The sword’s description reads “‘With a tongue of flame spake he the words of destruction.’ -Eikonomachy - Book of Brin 17:10.” This sword is such a great weapon due to the fact that it has a Stagger and Attack of 180. Unfortunately, like all Eikon weapons, it cannot be upgraded.
17Coral Sword
Coral Sword is a weapon that is one of the best in the game. Thankfully, it is also one of the easiest to find. It found within a chest inDrake’s Head, the area that you will go to with Cid and Jill to attempt to destroy one of the Mothercrystals.
The description of the blade reads “Coral, while razor sharp, is also painfully brittle, which is why its use in all but the most primitive of weapons is almost unheard of. This sword of unknown provenance, however, is possessed of a remarkable rigidity, while maintaining an edge that rivals that of Odin’s blade.” It is so good because it has an impressive 185 Attack and Stagger. However, the weapon cannot be upgraded.
16Levinbolt
The Levinbolt sword is another sword that can be crafted at the Black Hammer. In order to do so, you will need to defeat the Republican War Panther and obtain the Lightning Shard. This will happen directly after Drake’s Head and is in the middle of the quest “Cid The Outlaw.”
The weapon’s description reads “‘From heaven on high, far did his bolt fall for to deliver justice.’ - Eikonomachy - Book of Levin 4:20.” The weapon’s impressive Attack and Stagger at 195 is what makes this weapon so great. It is another one that cannot be upgraded.

15Platinum Sword
The Platinum Sword is thankfully pretty easy to obtain. It can be purchased as Charon’s shop after you finish the main quest “After the Storm.” It only costs 2000 Gil and can be a great weapon. It is able to be upgraded at the Blacksmith four times.
The description reads “Platinum makes for a poor blade, being too soft to withstand rigorous use in battle and too expensive for the common soldier to afford. It does, however, allow for ornate designs on crossguard, hilt, and pommel, where the rare metal is most often employed.” This sword is so good because its base Attack and Stagger is 200; however, you can upgrade it so that both are 460! This makes the weapon amazing.
14Grindstone
Grindstone is an Eikon weapon that can be crafted after you defeat Hugo. After the battle, you will obtain an Earth Shard, which can be used to craft this weapon at Blackthorne’s forge. The weapon has some amazing stats, especially for this stage in the game. Unfortunately, it cannot be upgraded at all.
Its description reads “‘And when he lifted his fists, beneath them was found naught but dust.’ - Eikonomachy - Book of Barrows 7:30.” The weapon has a nice 225 Attack and Stagger. While the fact it cannot be upgraded hinders it, it is still an amazing weapon.

13Enhancer
The Enhancer is another sword that is available for purchase. you may purchase it for 2,500 Gil from Charon’s shop once you begin the quest “Out of the Shadow” in the main storyline. Like other purchasable weapons, this weapon can be upgraded at Blackthorne’s four different times, making it a formidable weapon.
The description of it reads “Though a savvy merchant would have you believe that through arcane magicks imbued into the sword (at high cost to the supplier), its wielder will experience enhanced strength and dexterity, in truth, it is the reduced weight and increased hardness afforded by the weapon’s narrow blade of folded steel that ultimately provides the illusion of these enhancements.” What makes it so amazing is that its base Attack and Stagger is 230. However, once you upgrade it, you may get this to 490 for each.
12Diamond Sword
This is another amazing weapon that can be purchased. This time, you will need to purchase it from Goetz while in the Crystalline Dominion. This is an area in the heart of Valisthea that has no ruler or kingdom. The item is purchasable for 3,000 Gil and can be upgraded by Blackthorne four different times.
The description reads “A cursory inspection of this hefty broadsword will reveal diamonds on neither its hilt nor its blade. So why, then, the use of the precious gemstone in its name? The answer lies in its blade, into which the dust of Fallen ruins has been hammered during its forging, rendering it nigh unbreakable-much like a diamond.” At a base level, this weapon has an Attack and Stagger of 245, some of the best in the game. However, if you fully upgrade it, you can have an Attack and Stagger of 505.
11Ancient Blade
The Ancient Blade is a weapon that can be found in a chest located within Dhalmekia. The chest can be found west of the Steps of the Forgotten in this region. You will visit Dhalmekia for the first time while you are completing the quest “Riddle of the Sand” in the main storyline. Once you unlock the area, you are able to go and loot the chest. Unfortunately, this weapon cannot be upgraded at the Blacksmith.
The sword’s description says “A marked lack of weapons left from the age of the Fallen could either suggest theirs was a society in which peace prevailed, or one in which those in power were unable to be contested. Those few weapons that do remain are found to be extremely lightweight, and nigh indestructible, but unfortunately impossible to duplicate in modern-day forges.” It has an impressive 252 Attack and Stagger, making it one of the best in the game.
