Theupcoming Patch 7.2 updateforFinal Fantasy 14is adding a QoL feature that fans have been begging for since the game’s relaunch, as going through dungeons for the first time won’t be agonizing for everyone involved anymore.
MostFinal Fantasy 14 dungeonsfeature multiple boss encounters. If the players all die when facing such a powerful foe, then they get dumped back at the start of the dungeon. There are warp points that are unlocked throughout the dungeon, but these are placed far away from recent boss encounters, so there’s a lot of running involved before players can fight it again.

Final Fantasy 14 Director Reimagined MMO As A “Theme Park”, Each Expansion Draws On Various FF Titles
Final Fantasy 14’s disastrous launch is common knowledge in the community, but Naoki Yoshida gave the MMO a new beginning.
Final Fantasy 14’s Patch 7. 2 update, called Seekers of Eternity, launches March 25. Ahead of this release, Square Enix has uploaded preliminary patch notes on thegame’s official website, confirming that warp points are now being added to the entrances of boss arenas.

All Pre-Dawntrail Dungeons Have Boss Warps
There is a caveat to this amazing upgrade, as it currently only extends to dungeons added before the Dawntrail expansion. This means that players who have caught up with the story are still stuck with the old method, though Dawntrails dungeon will hopefully receive the same treatment in time.
After beginning a boss encounter in any dungeon introduced prior to Patch 7.0, the shortcut warp will take players to the boss area’s entrance.
The addition of boss warp arenas might be the best anti-frustration feature added to Final Fantasy 14 yet. The faffing about and running around after being slain by a boss was always teeth-grindingly annoying, especially when players are eager tojump back into the fight.
It’s not like Final Fantasy 14 needs to extend its runtime with padding, as the game already takes hundreds of hours to complete the main story. If anything, the more frustrating the game is, the less likely people are to return, especially when facing particularly hard dungeons.

Hopefully, the addition of boss arena warps is a sign of more QoL features to come. Final Fantasy 14 is an amazing game, but there are times when it feels like itunnecessarily drags content out, so tightening up any aspect of gameplay is a welcome change.
