Needless to say, Nolan has never disappointed fans with his movies. With each new movie, more and more people have become admirers of the director’s masterful filmmaking.

The Fast and the Furiousis one of the biggest franchises in the history of Hollywood cinema. The franchise was started in 2001, and now includes a series of action films, short films, a television series, toys, video games, and whatnot. It has been incredibly successful as an action film franchise with a worldwide gross of $7.3 billion (viaThe Numbers).
However, as of recent, this action film series seems to be losing its charm as audiences are starting to find the plotline redundant and hence, boring. This has caused a significant decline in the performance of the movies.

On the other hand, Christopher Nolan is unbothered as ever as he admitted his undying love for theFast & Furiousfranchise. While being interviewed by Stephen Colbert for a podcast forInSessionFilm, he said:
“I have no guilt about being a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise; it is a tremendous action franchise. I watch those movies all the time, I love them… you don’t need to watch them all in one sitting, it’s only the last few where a very specific arc of mythologies develop, I would start with ‘Tokyo Drift’.”

Whether or not fans approve of Nolan’s choice, he loves that franchise and refuses to back down. The heart wants what it wants, after all.

So far,Christopher Nolanhas not made a sequel to any of his own films so it is quite interesting that he loves a franchise as huge asFast & Furious. In an interview on Josh Horowitz’sHappy, Sad, Confusedpodcast, the Oppenheimer director revealed a fun fact about the action franchise, saying:
“The fun thing about those movies is even as they’ve gotten bigger and bigger and bigger, as sequels have to do, everyone always complains that sequels get bigger but we’re the people making sequels get bigger, we do want them bigger, you don’t want them smaller, it’s the Alien 3 lesson that Fincher learned.”
